RICK SANTORUM IS MORE THAN WILLING TO MAKE THE LIVES OF WHITE PEOPLE BETTER WITH WELFARE

The gaffe train is leaving Santorum station right now. In a speech before a group in Iowa GOP Presidential flavor of the week Rick Santorum said, ”I don’t want to make black people’s lives better by giving them other people’s money.” Now the main question that I have seen being asked on the political blogs this evening is why Santorum would single out blacks for this comment in Iowa. I have the answer to that easy question. It’s because his base of white conservative religious people need to hear that because their nation is no longer the nation of their grandparents.

The more important issue here is the dog whistle signal being sent by a man who could care less about Iowa or New Hampshire. This comment was for South Carolina to make himself, a Catholic, more palatable to Southern white voters. for the record Mr Santorum there are more white people collecting Welfare benefits in the United States than blacks by a large margin, almost 2 to 1.
