BREAD & CIRCUSES: SUZI SCHMIDT; SHERIFF PAT SULLIVAN; RANDY BAUMGARDNER
Politics and crime just seem to converge on Terra more and more these days. There is a political spectrum in America that is skewed by both the MSM and this wonderful invention the Internet. Both seem to allow the average person both the fuel and the accelerant to set both ends of that political spectrum alight on a regular basis.
This morning I begin with the sad tale of Suzi Schmidt a Republican state senator from Lake Villa, Illinois. Ms Schmidt has been having domestic problems for nearly a year now. On 25 December of last year Ms Schmidt called the local 911 operator to tell them that if her husband, Robert Schmidt called that they were to ignore him stating that she had served as the chairman of the Lake County Board for 10 years. Robert Schmidt did call 911 and complained that his wife was losing her shit and had bit him and scratched his face. As the Springfield State-Journal Register states her “dysfunctional marriage” prompted Schmidt not to run for re-election to the Illinois State Senate. All of this was going on in the midst of an ongoing feud between Suzi Schmidt and one of her neighbors that exploded when she gradded a bag of animal feed and ripped it while shouting expletives. Schmidt was arrested and charged with misdemeanor property destruction. The neighbors filed for a restraining order against Schmidt on Tuesday and the local media are reporting the Republican State Senator harassed the couple with texts and phone calls. Beyond that Suzi Schmidt is alleged to have told the couple’s 7 year old son that his mother was having sex with Robert Schmidt. Sources close to this story in Chicago state Robert Schmidt is in the midst of filing for divorce. The Lake County GOP insists they will not ask the 60 year old Senator to resign.
In Arapahoe County, Colorado, former Sheriff Pat Sullivan was released from jail after serving 17 days in jail for trading sex with a 13 year old boy for methamphetamine. Sullivan for all the charges against him got 38 dyas in jail amd a $1,100 dollar fine.
Colorado State Representative Randy Baumgardner R-Hot Sulphur Springs whose campaign website is emblazoned with bright red letters that shout “CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN” now has his loyalty to the law and his morality in question as he faces a bitter contest in a GOP State Senate primary against incumbent Jean White on 26 June. Both candidates have had surrogates run negative ads but the campaign has turned decisively negative after a group called Public Advocates of the United States a conservative anti-gay marriage group based in Falls Church, Virginia, mailed out a flyer to district 8 residents showing two men kissing to point out Jean White’s support of civil unions.
Local media now have uncovered that Buamgardner has hired and is sheltering an unregistered sex offender by the name of
