SUNDAY POLITICAL OP-ED: MITCHETHEKID EXPLAINS WHY CONSERVATISM WILL FAIL AND SOON

This brilliant explanation of why the political and social ideology of Conservatism is dying on the vine in the United States of America as posted by Mitchethekid at Blogs4Victory. Blogs4Victory has currently barred most liberal comment and has devolved into mostly a conservative echo chamber of soft racism, dominionism, bigotry and fearmongering, but this little nugget of gold slipped through their censorship filters. Enjoy:

The right can’t and it won’t because it is incapable of convincing enough people of their self serving righteousness. The right is the intolerant. The right is against even their own ideas if a so called “liberal” embraces them. Why do you, on the right, insist on excoriating being educated by a public system designed to have a well informed populace in all areas? Could it perhaps be because being educated encourages critical thinking? And critical thinking contains an element of doubt? And doubt leads to questions and questions lead to being critical of the mindless, lockstep absolutism of contemporary conservatives? Instead of focusing on the failures of Leave No Child Behind as an example ,the right focuses on an opinion that public education produces more skeptical liberals than rote, lock step unquestioning conservatives. And is therefore supportive of alternatives which do not produce well educated young people but rather a mish mash the confused, scientifically illiterate and socially awkward. I know there are exceptions, but generally this is a factual observation.
This country has always prided itself on being the best in all areas. And yet now it’s the right side of the political spectrum that takes every opportunity presented to trash the valued institutions we have spent 237 yrs building. So who here is really anti American? Who here truly resents what America is? Not some romanticized false memory of a time that never existed nor was experienced, but an actual conviction that a conservative template is the more superior.
The facts are that the more the right defends their rigid stance on all issues, the more they are rejected by the general public. You here on B4V can delude yourselves all you want, you can disallow comments from someone like me and I wouldn’t be surprised if this wasn’t posted but denying the publication of my POV doesn’t make it any less true. All it does is show how intolerant the moderators are of any dissent or alternative and just how scared they are to engage me in issues of real substance.

“Seniorwoman” formerly Crissyann a commenter at Blogs4Victory summed up how the Baby Boomer Right feels about the ever growing Progressive movement which has time and demographics on its side:

Those are awfully strong words both positive from a Progressive like Mitch and negative from a Conservative like Seniorwoman. Reading these made me think about the “death panels’ farce Betsy McCaughey ginned up during the debate over the Affordable care Act. One of the greatest components of irony in the conservative side of American politics is that considering how religious these people say they are and how certain they are the Chosen People in the eyes of the Creator, they sure have a deep and abiding fear of Death, the one thjing certain in their lives. As far as I am concerned the only death panels the GOP and far right Conservatives in America need to be concerned about are call “election day.”

This is the only response I am going to give mitchie’s massively uninformed and ignorant rant.

The left has brought us political correctness where they demand an individual to talk a certain way. So that puts his “critical thinking” and “lock step” arguments of the right away. A true critical thinker would not be constrained as political correctness is. Plus, today’s public schools do not teach critical thinking (at least until the college level and then again, liberal professors would not tolerate such behavior and speaking in their classes). Many public school have produced barely functioning illiterates much less an independent thinker where education is wrought with political correctness and ideology.

And let’s talk science, true science would bring forth both sides of an issue and develop through research and experimentation theories and observable hypotheses. Global warming is the prime example. The whole issue is wrought with misinformation from the left. The left won’t entertain any counter argument as we have seen in the UN’s pursuit of the issue. The “skeptics” are not allowed in any discussion that counters the propaganda. Their results are not allowed either – this too put his myth “the left are critical thinkers” away also. If they were the critical thinkers he claims to be, then they would allow both sides represented on the issue. He thinks B4V is bad for omitting and deleting “opinion”, he should really investigate the UNs tactics on the issue.

And lastly, when the left’s ideology has failed in practice again and again and again as history has consistently shown us, would true critical thinkers on the left keep trying the same lunacy over and over and expect a different result?

No. There are actual FACTS mitchie. Your “facts” are nothing but unsubstantiated ideology. You can join the real world or continue to live in your ideological fantasy and visit the pitchfork for more regurgitated material.

Don’t bother responding there will be nothing new for you to present that you have not presented before that was not debunked. It will be a waste of time and bandwidth.

A LITTLE COMMENTARY TO THE CONSERVATIVES AT BLOGS4VICTORY

Mark Noonan and Matt Margolis have written another book about . . . well I don’t know what it’s about yet. I have a few of the smart kids from the research department including Senior Researcher Carrie Trevillian who will begin writing her column here this week. They’re going to read the book and take it apart on a fact by fact but from what I’ve been able to see on Amazon.com it’s nothing more than a politcal hack job disguised as a half assed attack on a centrist President.

Here’s how I replied to the post at B4V which since it is based in fact and reason and not on religion the possession of assault rifles or doesn’t include a right to drill for oil on federal land it has been deleted. And these people say Hitler and Stalin were Liberals???

Of course, it is all these things. I am not going to read the book but I’ve had a staff person here order it so we can break it down. I know you guys are tired of losing presidential elections but you do have one house of congress which you’ll likely hold until 2016. You got all your wishes when Obama was elected the first time. The economy was going south and like many conservatives you blamed Obama. You can still point to a sluggish economy today more than four years after his 2008 win. In the age of instant gratification there isn’t a single conservative that I know that doesn’t start a conversation about the US economy. Now the right is dropping the ball by focusing on this meaningless witch hunt about the Bengahzi attacks. Some have even called for Impeachment hearings. Fine. If you want the US to be a one party state when your kids are all in their 40s keep it up.

It doesn’t matter what was or was not done in Benghazi for this simple reason. Had Mitt Romney won the 2012 presidential election would any conservative still be drumbeating about hearings or Impeachment? I don’t think so even with Hillary breathing down your necks because you would have the advantage of incumbency. So to hell with Benghazi and all this fake outrage it’s just political grandstanding of the worst order. There will still be people here talking about Benghazi by July but as soon as Congress takes its summer holiday the issue will die even if Sharyl Atkisson does a strip tease reading the State Department emails on the capitol steps.

Here’s the problem I’ve got with people who really aren’t journalists or researchers but simply partisans writing books about a sitting president. if you guys were interested in the truth in politics both of you would have been drumbeating your readers to go to Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight.com and read why you were going to lose unless you had a massive turnout. I told you to do that months before the election when i was calling for Obama nearly by the electoral margin he won by. None of you geniuses could see that your base was about to sit on their hands because you were too busy being rope a doped by Obama’s first debate flop. And then on election day the sucker punch. Priceless.

In Hindsight

Back in 2007 I was asked, on a talk show about US politics, to rank where George W Bush should sit as compared to all the previous presidents. I answered at the time, “I’d place him 20th today,” and the interviewer seemed shocked. She asked why i would rank him so high despite all the noise I’d made during the height of the Iraq War. My answer was simple, “The man isn’t done yet, so why would I rank him low because I disagree with his policies or a conservative to rank him hihg because they have to to seem credible as a pundit when he isn’t done yet?” I feel the same way about the current US president.

BUFORD ROGERS IS NOT A TERRORIST BUT HE WOULD HAVE BEEN TO CONSERVATIVES HAD HE NOT BEEN WHITE

This is because Buford Rogers was caught before he could commit acts that would have certainly been deemed terroristic. Had they been committed by anyone with connections to a foreign group, a religion other than Christianity and been non white. From the interview done with Buford Rogers’ parents, We, Ourselves of the Collective clearly have the Federal Bureau of Investigation to thank for keeping this domestic and local grudge from becoming something much more serious and deadly. Many conservative forums and blogs are making light of this arrest. The Meditators find this both amusing and shocking.

Consider this scenario; a man is caught in a home with pressure cookers and black powder and nails and ball bearings and a tip leads to the FBI arresting him and his brother days before the Boston Marathon. After the holiday the media report the findings of local, state and Federal law enforcement. The plot to bomb the race and to carry out further attacks in New York City has been thwarted. Now is this person a potential terrorist based on what the police and the FBI suspect he could have done had he completed his bombs? Does it really matter if the person is an adherent to Islam from Dagestan or the product of poor white trash in western Minnesota?

The crime that will likely not stick against Buford Rogers is the possession of a firearm by a felon charge. It is alleged that Rogers had a Romanian AKM rifle and other firearms based upon his fingerprints being on them. Jeff Rogers, the father of Buford, says that his son only cleaned the weapons. What would the NRA say about a legal gun owner allowing a relative who is known felon who legally is barred from possessing a firearm easy access to them? Is this not one of the gaping loopholes in gun ownership regulation in America; the sales between relatives many times done after straw purchases?

Margaret Rogers a woman identified only as being married to Jeff Rogers said there were no pipe bombs in the home but the FBI stated the pipe bombs and Molotov cocktails were found in the shed with other potential weapons. Conservative blogs have already picked up on the words of this woman which echo terribly similarly to those by Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s mother which claim Buford is not a terrorist and that there was nothing found in the home. The reaction of the Rogers family and those that knew Buford Rogers run parallel to the sort of things that were said about the Boston Marathon bombers. Rogers even has a younger brother who can be seen in the picture above wearing camouflage and standing next to a poster which could be used for an anti-illiteracy campaign.

The words of Jeff Rogers are clear and to the point for all to see, “Bucky is not a terrorist. He is not out to bomb anyone. He’s a patriot like we all should be.” The Collective knows and understands exactly who the “we’ Jeff Rogers refers to in this quote. Rogers and his sons were members of a minor group of patriots in Minnesota known as the Black Snake Militia. The BSM has ties to the Southern Brotherhood Milita whose stated goals are [Emphasis Ours}:

"We oppose the United Nations , NATO and the Powers-That-Be, we are against the Federal Secular Humanists that run our Anti-Christian / Anti-God Government. We oppose Abortionists, CFR, the International Bankers ( Banks ) and Corporations. We oppose all meddling beauracratic [sic] entities.

We are anti-conformists and believe people should show absolute respect for the diverse differences in beliefs, ideas and character of others.

We employ a social tribal order, to maintain our laws and see to the social welfare of our people.

Our purpose is to stand against all evil and utterly destroy the perpetrators of evil.”

And now this becomes, yet again, a matter for the Laal Hethri. The beliefs of many groups like the BSM and the SBM are the beliefs of the rank and file of the TEA Party. When an adherent to Islam commits such acts it is always terrorist when poor white theocrats plot to do similar things it is to conservatives simply a “local dispute” that got out of hand and the FBI has “overreacted.”

THE REASONS DIANNY IS A CONSERVATIVE ARE EXACTLY THE OPPOSITE OF WHY I AM A PROGRESSIVE

I like a good fight but I also know when and where to pick my battles. Some issues like a woman’s right to choose, gay rights, gun control and a path to citizenship for millions of undocumented workers are worth going to the barricades every time. Many inside and outside the halls of power in Washington, the capital of my country of birth seem to have forgotten this. I am stunned still by the political cowardice of women like Heidi heitkamp and Kelly Ayotte on background checks. Their terrified minority of gun loving constituents and NRA lobby hacks scared the political piss out of them making them fear having to get a real job since being a Congress member was never intended to be a lifetime career subsidized by the very fat cats that need regulation the most. Yeah, right I’m off on a digression tangent.

Conservative blogger Dianny over at Maser Media a worshipper at the Church of the carcass of Breitbart [yes, yes, dear readers, he's still dead and a free citizen in Hell] has two links to why she converted to Conservatism from being a Liberal in her artsy youth. From what I read I can understand why she’s a woman in her middle age and a Conservative. Like so many that make the switch she was never really a Liberal or a Progressive to begin with. She wanted a conventional life like the lives of the women she grew up with. Dianny also admits that her mother is an avid acolyte of Rush Limbaugh. I’m not so dense as to think that this droning windbag could convert anyone to his way of thinking if the soil wasn’t ripe to spout that poisoned tree in the first place. From Dianny Rants:

There has never been a more vital time for Conservatives to stand up and become warriors than today. This nation is under attack, not just from Islamists outside, but from Liberals within. The conclusion, the end objective of Liberalism is the destruction of our Republic. And this is so clearly embodied in Barack Obama.

Obama didn’t spring fully formed, unique and singularly different from every other Democrat. He’s exactly what Liberalism is – socialist policies draped in the robe of feel-goodism. The difference between Obama and other Liberals is he doesn’t just show a little leg, but exposes the sickening socialistic underbelly of Liberalism. In Obama, all pretense has been stripped away.

Obama’s ego is so dangerously enormous, his self-love and self-importance far beyond anything we have ever witnessed in contemporary political circles. He interprets his 50+% reelection victory as a sweeping, mandate for more socialist, redistributionist policies.

But it isn’t just Obama that has misread this last election. The entire Liberal Establishment – from Congress to the Senate to the Mainstream Media – have overreached. And this can be Liberalism’s undoing. But only if we Conservatives step up, speak up, and stand on our principles.

While the feckless GOP trips all over themselves to appease Obama in much the same way Chamberlain appeased Hitler, we Conservatives need to rally together, stand together and fight off this Big Government Statist while we still have a nation to defend.

We don’t need feelings; we need action.

We don’t need to appeal to the media; we need to disregard them, go around them.

We don’t wring our hands and bemoan the lack of a voice in Washington; we become our own voice.

We have to stop caring what the mainstream media says about us, what the Liberals in Congress and in this White House say about us. All they have are words. We have principles.

And as Walter Cronkite used to say at the end of his news cast, “And that’s the way it is.” Yeah, I thought they made tablets for that kind of delusional thinking. The sheer reflexive nature of it all is just astounding and yet I am given hope simply by reminding you dear reader that this is a person who has lived most of their First Life. Like many middle aged Conservatives especially the super motivated Breitbart and Limbaugh lovers who have to be double plus Conservative because they went along to get along when their paychecks from a Liberal dominated industry depended upon it, Dianny has a lot of trouble looking at any of the good being Progressive has done in its “feel good” drive to make America a true success in the post Cold War age. The fact that this person could vote for Bush after he went into iraq tells me everything I need to know.

In Hindsight
I’m not the least bit concerned about anyone who has this sort of midlife crisis in political ideology. Nor do I think that President Obama is trying to destroy the Republic. If Dianny was 20 something instead of 40 something I would be concerned for the future of American Progressivism, especially if she were a lawyer rather than in the employ of the theater arts a trade which I have many friends in and the utmost respect because the bulk of them that I know realize that being a Progressive is to serve their own present and guarantee their comfort in the future.

I quote the head of Hell’s police force, the Laal Hethri, to help me make my point this morning. It appears, with the help of the 24 hour, local, national and global news cycle, that problem solving has migrated from simply being able to walk away and cut your losses in America to a thread of having to destroy the problem and thereby destroying yourself. Every Free Citizen of Hell can count themselves fortunate for not being in the Suicide Gardens and allowing the Fates to decide when was their time to die. Not only are those gardens where those who have thrown their First Lives away a center of Eternal Punishment but it also stands as a lining monument to Freedom in the Afterlife. While those suffering horribly in the Field of Crosses outside of Hell’s capital, Dis, do find themselves in a miserable state their suffering is a vacation to those who will never know anything but the repetitive horror of reliving their self execution over and over until and beyond the End of Time.

Our law enforcement and special intelligence groups within the Directat Javeth Nathux have never wavered in their efforts to save the minds of humans that would do harm to themselves. In America, the main obstacle to decreasing the number of suicides and the murders that often accompanied them is the culture of the gun. This journalist is fully aware of what the United States Constitution says about gun ownership. I also realize that if someone wants to die they will often find a way to do it even if a gun isn’t close by. The statistics that I see on a daily basis are staggering in regard to the number of people that kill themselves with firearms, go on shooting rampages and commit murders with guns of all types that it make me wonder why any sane person would want to live in a nation or be a part of a society that has as many guns in the hands of civilians as there are citizens of the country.

Today this isn’t a political issue to the family of Brandon Holt of Toms River, New Jersey. Brandon was killed by a four year old playmate who found a .22 rifle pointed it at his head from a distance of 13 meters and pulled the trigger. Brandon Holt is dead now and all the citizens who are in love with guns in America still can cling to their 2nd amendment rights. But what about Brandon Holt’s parents? What about the 4 year old child that now will become a constant reminder bot to the Holt’s parents and to his own of what a tragic momentary lapse of vigilance can do? Of course Wayne La Pierre of the National Rifle Association would say that this child a 4 year old child could have murdered Brandon with any number of common household items. Mr. La Pierre has a job to do and that is to keep the pressure on conservatives in Congress to maintain their position on the 2nd amendment not for the benefit of Mr La Pierre’s 4.5 million members but for the billions earned every year by gun manufacturers in the United States.

While the Sandy Hook Elementary School Massacre was the tipping point in the political debate, the facts of the damage that guns do to the America society in the hands of loved ones of gun owners and the owners themselves makes this journalist question just how rational the American people are anymore. Many conservatives see the firearm as the last line of defense against violent crime. This fear of “the Other” coming to their home and doing them and those they love violent bloody harm is a drum that gets beaten by right wing politicians on a regular basis. The code phrases about constitutional rights aside, the simple facts is that white American conservatives are more willing to commit suicide from fear of death than to take the weapons of choice for the vast number of their own demographic off the table. The plain truth is that more white Americans are killed by guns every year by their own hands or the hands of their spouse or significant other than by any minority unknown person wielding a gun.

I would be remiss as a journalist to not point out the crimes of men like Daniel D Billings of Milwaukee, Wisconsin who shot and killed his lover Annemarie Bautsch for reasons unknown, or to leave out the murder suicide of Tony Bailey and his wife Cindy Bailey in Inkster, Michigan where Tony Bailey stabbed his wife 60 times and then self immolated in his garage. Like the horror that took place in Montgomery County, Maryland that resulted in the death of high school student Michelle Miller at the hands of Army Staff Sergeant Adam Arndt these are clearly crimes of passion and/or mental illness. But despite the please from those on the Right about gun violence in Chicago, to simply say these people are crazy and go on accepting the violence is something that no civilized culture, no superpower as a nation state should accept.

FAR RIGHT BIGOTS VENT THEIR SPLEENS ON A NEW TARGET THE PARENTS OF SANDY HOOK VICTIMS WHO DARE TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST GUN VIOLENCE

You knew it would only be a matter of time before the real cowards in the debate about guns in America showed their true colors. The bigots over at IOwnTheWorld.com led by the Grand Imperial Cyclops of Stupidity aka BigFurHat is angry that Mark Mattioli, a father of a victim in the Sandy Hook School massacre who supports the National Rifle Association, isn’t getting the same amount of press or love from Google, as those who are advocating stricter controls on large capacity magazine, ammunition and assault weapons. This was the conversation BigFurHat had with a commenter, Liberal Larry who reacted to the first comment after the post:

Whom: “It is amazing. The actors and fakes of the shooting. Even the pic above looks fake (bad acting).”

Liberal Larry: “His son was murdered, you monster.”

BigFurHat: “His son’s death has caused a bunch of friggin opportunistic morons to go after “assault rifles.”

That is like cracking down on steroid abuse in baseball by banning weight-lifting.

I realize you’re a parody commenter, but, liberals must be eradicated.”

I realize that these gun nuts and bigots have a heavy burden on their shoulders. Having to drag all that hate and animosity around all day while, at the same time, keeping a sharp eye out for the black guy that’s going to carjack them and force them to watch as they rape their whole family including the dog in the comfort of their conservative and safe suburban homes, must be exhausting. But this is even too far overboard for your friendly neighborhood Gonzo™ journalist having his second bourbon and branch water this fine warm morning. To mock people in their grief is a time honored tradition if they were responsible for the situation they are in currently. This is quite aptly known as schadenfreude and it is virtually a currency here in Hell. But BigFurHat and the other haters at IOwnTheWorld.com aren’t in the business of schadenfreude harvesting; they are in the business of filling the minds of fearful angry people with the poison that will ultimately lead to widespread violence among conservatives against whatever the target of convenience is.

It won’t matter to them when a white supremacist kills a state director of prisons as BigFurHat dare not write about such matters because they don’t fit into the fearspeak paradigm that demand that there is no black middle class, that their is a gay agenda that wants to destroy Christianity and that the current president is a Marxist Muslim from Kenya. I was of a mind that the whole matter was settled after the last election cycle and that the writing was on the wall that conservatives especially ones living in the suburbs of New York City needed to reevaluate their positions on a number of matters politically or meet their historical end as a national movement. Instead the right had tripled down on guns and new tactics that will turn them into the caricatures of the violent Left they blabber on so much about.

Neil Heslin did nothing more than send his son to school where, like many Americans have come to understand horribly in this modern time, he felt his child was safe. Neil Heslin’s tragedy didn’t come at the hands of some inner city thug with a cheap revolver who killed a child to take his lunch money to buy crack. This man, who BigFurHat calls, “mumbles,” is mired in grief because his child was taken from him by the very same fire of anger and fear that burns in the hearts of every bigoted right wing jackass who is willing to vomit their bile all over the many digital pages that will allow them. Those children aren’t dead simply because Nancy Lanza was a flighty bitch who loved guns more than she loved common sense. Those 20 children and the six school teachers and officials at Sandy Hook Elementary are dead because of Conservatism and it never ending addiction to guns and gun culture as the only means by which to keep the brown and black wolf and their allies from their doors.

In Hindsight

I have a tip for all you doomsday preppers, birthers, family values snake oil sellers, homophobic right wing pundits, minority conservatives that jump on the train to make a quick buck, Breitbart corpse eaters, Reagan idolizers, La Pierre lovers, Republican chicks who use gun barrels as dildos, Mama grizzlies, right wing hockey moms and TEA Party patriots, out there in the good old US of A. Fucking get a life people. Really. There was once a time that a simply word could keep a man from doing what his heart and mind told him was the correct thing to do. A solitary word could make it justifiable to beat a man to death because he loved another man and that same word could be used to hang a millstone around a brutalized young boy’s neck and cast him into a river to die. That word is SHAME. What comes along with that word like a loyal hound following closely is fear. Back in the day the fear of being call a faggot or a nigger lover or a commie was so powerful because it meant you would be ostracized from the tribe of white men who could be trusted, who were honorable, who knew their way was the right way the only way, the American way. Now, my friends we all know better. What those bigots and haters did for centuries wasn’t to keep their women safe, it was to keep them quiet. It wasn’t to preserve anything but their own power, nothing more. So the next time you hear someone spouting the BigFurHat’s racist bullshit on any topic smile politely and say, “You’ve already lost, shut the fuck up.”

NORTH CAROLINA GOP SECEDES FROM THE UNION

This could possibly be the best delayed April Fool’s joke of all time.

Well, almost. Two North Carolina legislators are fed up with all the secularism in their state and have decided to introduce a bill that would allow North Carolina to declare an official state religion, by way of the Rowan County Defense of Religion Act of 2013. Now if they picked Judaism I would be shocked. The Atlantic Wire and Forbes both point out, as The Boss did this morning that Lemon v Kurtzman [403 US 602] (1971) quashed the constitutionality of any such action by any of the several states.

I know it’s unconstitutional and so do they but in these dark times for conservative thinking any half baked idea to rally the base is better than no idea at all for those on the Right. Here’s my problem with this that goes far beyond the simply nature of how it kicks in the teeth of civil liberties; which religion gets chosen and by whom? Now Carl Ford a Republican from the bustling diverse metropolis of China Grove, North Carolina and Harry Warren a Republican from Salisbury, North Carolina may not have thought this through. I would imagine that both of these men and the other 11 GOP representatives that support it would all stand up and shout “Christianity!” That’s fine since 79% [as of 2001] of the population of the state professes Christianity as their faith of choice. Okay, but which sect?

Let’s say they decide in the North Carolina legislature that their official religion is the Southern Baptist Convention. That may ruffle the feathers of the Methodists, the Mormons, the Episcopalians, the Lutherans, the Presbyterians, the Jews and the Catholics who taken together make up 41% to the Baptists 38%. A religious war could erupt along the lines of the English Civil War from Elizabeth City to Black Mountain over a perceived right that a conservative group of legislators wish they possessed.

If they dodge that time honored western European tradition of murdering each other over how you worship their still would be many hurdles that would have to be jumped in the name of not violating the new law. Public officials would now all have to come from that minority of Baptists. Every judge, every mayor, every sheriff that ran for office would have to come from this pool of citizens and no one else. To hold a public office one would have to swear faith in the state religion. Moreover, the people who sit behind those windows where you get a business license would also have to swear an oath or kiss the hem of a flag or something to keep their positions. So imagine me, a New York Jew living in retirement in North Carolina and I want to start a business. Would I be allowed to get a loan from a Baptist bank? Would I be able to get a driver’s license at the DMV? Maybe I would be easier identified if I wore a pretty yellow Magen David on my coat?

In Hindsight

This is the entire point. Angry old white dudes again slinging feces at the GOP brand. But of course this has nothing to do with the Republican party that Lincoln was the foundation of as a President. This has to do with the Dixiecrat wing of the Democratic Party that became Republican after Nixon’s Southern Strategy success in 1968. This is still really funny when you think about it. Conservatives lose their minds as if the Marines are on their way to take their guns at any mention of gun control because that’s a violation of the 2nd amendment while these hayseeds in North Carolina clearly have no respect for the 1st amendment at all.

MITCHETHEKID EXPLAINS IT ALL

A daring post from a Liberal commenter both here and at Blogs4Victory. This should be any Progressive’s first read this morning:

Thanks for mentioning our conversations Cluster. I appreciate it. I think that Amazona is correct in saying that social issues should not be the focus of any government, let alone one based upon conservative precepts. To take that statement to its logical conclusion, we all should be libertarian, as long as we do not devolve into anarchy. Unfortunately this is not the case. There are many, to many IMO, that are obsessed with social issues and use the government and it’s law making and law enforcing power to enact both restrictions and allowances. I am not a constitutional expert. I have a DAR manual that I look at from time to time but mostly for a point of clarification. I agree that it is a brilliantly written document and that the authors had enough forethought and enlightenment to be cognizant of the future. But it is also a product of it’s time, written by human beings who were every bit as complicated and flawed and brilliant and tragic as anyone living today. The essence of all words, as a conveyance of thinking, is metaphorical. (A word itself.) And as such, the words are subject to interpretation. An argument can be made that the “intent” that Amazona mentioned, is nothing more than learned guessing. (Emphasis on ned in learned.) One of the functions of the Supreme Court, is to interpret the meaning of the language that comprises the Constitution, by way of a shared consensus of opinion between a quorum of justices.
But in a representative government, if a social issue is a concern, then it does become subject to legislation. This has been a fact throughout human history. We do not live in a vacuum (no pun intended towards those who doubt my aviator skills) and in 2013 there are over 300 million people who live in the US. In 1776 there were ~ 2.5 and were primarily agrarian.
I think that conservative principals are the best choice where the issue(s) are economic in nature. But I do not disparage a degreed economist who happens to have a more fundamental understanding of the dynamics of a multi-trillion economy and how it interacts not only with those that have a dollar in their pocket, but now amongst the entire planet as well.
As I see it, it is not the educational system that is to blame, or the inherent bias that all people and businesses possess that is the root of the problems conservatism is experiencing, it is the behavior, the claims and the reporting of it. A few examples exist on this blog alone. Retired Spook going on about transformation. Society, culture and politics are fluid, not static.Please provide some specific examples Retired Spook, of how our country is suffering from the progressive nature of time and the changing attitudes of the population. There are very few examples that my feeble brain can come up with that verify your conviction that an uber left even exists, let alone paint with such broad strokes this “intense dislike of how America was founded.” Just how was it founded? Not why, but how. And why do you stereotype? Not all “liberals” are America hating. In fact, most people desire a better America, not a worse one.
Amazona’s use of inflammatory adjectives as a method of demeaning and undermining alternative points of view. And her obsession with spelling, grammar and punctuation. (I write the way I speak, commas substituting for pauses.)
I won’t even address Neo. There isn’t a better representative for the fanatical, fringe extreme that gives conservatives a bad reputation than he. Conservatism isn’t the problem. It’s conservatives.
I am a supporter of smaller government. I do not think excessive regulation(s) are a good thing. I think local control is superior to national but I also recognize the duplicity that currently exists on the right, how traditional conservatism has been eviscerated by a pandering to a certain type of uninformed and fearful individual and how tribalism has been exploited to further the monetary goals of others. This is the human condition. This is what Machiavelli often referred to and encouraged. I think that for conservatism to make a resurgence, it has to go through a metamorphosis. Unfortunately for those currently experiencing this change, it is a difficult process and it is perfectly understandable to want to blame those that don’t subscribe to the ideology, whom are not fixated with blaming the “media” or contemporary popular culture for their poor and declining image. There is a difference between cooperation and capitulation. This demarcation applies to all sides of the political grid. Self examination is a positive. A refusal to accept the need to change is not. And this applies to everyone on both a personal level and as a member of a group.
OK. I think I will slither back into my hole now.

STUFF BLACK PEOPLE REALLY DON’T LIKE OR WHY TEAQUESTRATION IS A FORM OF POLITICAL BIGOTRY

Majordomo Pain wrote a very interesting and informative article on the profit being derived from all the ills currently affecting the United States of America. Since the posting of that article here at The Dis Brimstone Daily Pitchfork I got a comment from a fan of the right wing bigot blog Stuff That Black people Don’t Like:

I am assuming that DWL stands for dumb white liberal. Now the white part and the liberal part are accurate but I assure the commenter that I’m not dumb at all. I’m smart enough to recognize that you live on a planet with no way off and that you live in a nation that is in the painful throes of a transition from a race based patriarchal capitalist meritocracy to a diversity based corporatist oligarchy. Now I would prefer to have a diversity based cultural democracy but I have to admit that is not very likely to be witnessed in your lifetimes, no matter your age, for a myriad of complex reasons.

It amazes me that white conservative bigots can come up with literally pounds of data that show that black and Latino Americans are violent and need to be excised from the society in your country but they cannot seem to find any reason to examine the actions of the obstructionists in the GOP who are as terrified by the power at the polls of these bigots in their congressional districts. The Sequester is a direct result of the single minded action of this terrified GOP to, by any means necessary, remove the first person of color from the highest elected office in the United States. This having failed they must now focus on keeping their offices and perks. The GOP has become a regional party and while today they control many of the state legislatures and governor’s offices in America they realize that to win nationally they would have to turn their backs on their white bigoted base. To do this and come to the center to move America into a prosperous new future would be seen by millions of Americans who hate or distrust others simply for the color of their skin would force the creation of a third party and ending even the regional power of the GOP. The cascade of statewide and local defeats of far right candidates due to split allegiances would be catastrophic to the GOP.

People like SBPDL acolyte Jack Krak at American Renaissance are simply angry that a nation firmly in the control of white males no longer recognizable to them. The reason for this is the surge in black and Latino birth rates, immigration and an increase in interracial marriage. The very seem people who feel that an unborn fetus is a person and should have civil rights are the same people who want to see the civil rights of black in the United States violated to give them back the power they had four generations ago. This sort of thinking is not only backward it is patently anti-American. Sure both Krak and the anonymous owner of SBPDL have a first amendment right to hold and express any political or social position they feel just as we do here in Hell. What they cannot and must not do is restrict the civil rights of others simply to take America backward into an age where white American bigots of all social classes could sleep at night knowing they had at least one advantage over everyone who was darker in pigmentation than them.
