WHAT CONSERVATIVES HAVE MISSED ABOUT MARK SANFORD’S VICTORY

blochadvocate_7

Short and sweet this morning.

Mark Sanford won his race for the House of representatives in a predominantly conservative district despite his well documented failings. Conservatives are really excited about this but many admit they held their nose at the result. Some have even stated that they expect another meltdown from the infamous Appalachian Trail hiker. But for Progressives like me the victory by Sanford considering he didn’t get very much support at all from his national party gives me great hope for the 2016 presidential election. Hillary Clinton is both the most hated and most loved woman in American politics. If she runs we can expect the dream of the conservatives that was shattered by the victory of Barack Obama in the 2008 Democratic Party primaries to come true. The Right wanted desperately to run against Hillary so they could vent their spleens of all the vitriol they had stored for eight years after the departure of President William Jefferson Clinton. By 2016 the Right will mobilize into the teeth of a successful rollout of ObamaCare to attempt to have their dream. However we can look to the victory of Sanford for instruction. America is no longer a nation of Conservatives and no matter who the GOP candidate is in the end more people in the United States feel positive about Hillary’s abilities than they desire to return to the world of conservative patriarchal control.
