We, Ourselves, of The Collective and The Meditators on all matters metaphysical embrace the decisions made by the Supreme Court of the United States this week regarding marriage equality. Equally, We denounce their decision regarding the Voting Rights Act as a retrograde step that gives hope to bigots that they can control society via the ballot box. Control is a major theme in modern American society as We see it. Corporations want to control the the vast pool of money held in the hands of a powerful few and use it to generate even more money. Marketing firms want to control the minds of American consumers to buy what they do not need yet must have. Religions have ceased to be in the business of “saving souls” and have devolved into the business of saving their political power by way of culture war battles that in the great scheme of things mean very little. it is a sad commentary on the young adulthood of the American republic.

Mark Edward Noonan is a human male who lives near Las Vegas, Nevada. He has admitted that he was not always an ultraconservative, or a libertarian. For most of his life he was a typical average human who wanted the same things most young men want– a person to love who loves him, money and recognition for his accomplishments. Noonan got none of these things and his life became a cycle of depression and desire wrapped in ennui. He took solace, as he has admitted in online pornography and while the Collective sees nothing shameful or wrong with observing adult human sexuality transmitted by digital images using this replace real world relationships is a dangerous path to trek upon. Sad and lonely Mark Edward Noonan turned to the last resort for most people in your time who are desperate for some sort of social interaction that can lead to the physical coupling that is necessary for the mental health of the human organism– the Church.

Like most who are addicted to a destructive behavior Noonan is not simply comforted by his transformation he is compelled to transform others as well. While We, Ourselves, find this an admirable avocation which is to be applauded all sentient beings organized into a society must understand that all actions, even those secret and terrible that many would like to remain hidden, have consequences. In his article at Blogs4Victory this morning, which The Meditators digested slowly, Noonan decries the victories won for advocates of marriage equality in the United States as an infringement on the religion that turned him into a Man from a Loser. he argues that his right to press the source of his transformation from a Loser into a Man into the hearts and minds of his colleagues at work or anywhere else for that matter is being restricted and that that right should be codified into law.

Here is where we find a conundrum that leads into a deep dark trap for anyone who takes their Metaphysics seriously. the desire to control for one’s own purpose to the detriment of the rights of others is a ditch dug with the shovel and mattock of preferential logic and hypocrisy. In their minds these people can hold two polar opposite ideas and to them they seem to compliment one another. The first is that they have the right based upon their beliefs, unproven in any Court of Law or any laboratory of Science, to hold a position of primacy within a society simply because for generations this has been the case. Swiftly it is forgotten by such persons, that Change is the only and singular constant in any social organization. Second, they feel that because they have this right to primacy within a society based solely on tradition and race that they have the right to deny others, with whom they find flaws or by the teachings of their religion they find their behavior abhorrent to religious teachings, their own civil rights. This is the worst of all traps.

Noonan, by his own words says, “Of course, now I want a bit more – I want that really muscular protection for Free Exercise. Rather tired of being pushed around – and so I want laws on the books which make it illegal to attempt to push me around based upon my religious beliefs…and same goes for everyone else. Yes, I realize this will then erect no legal barrier to someone who wants to say that smoking dope is their sacrament, or even that Muslims might want four wives. I’m indifferent to that – my ability to freely exercise my religion trumps all else here and I’ll take the good with the bad.” To Mark Noonan the concept of Free Exercise refers to the Free Exercise of the beliefs that transformed him from a Loser in his own mind to Man in outward appearance to the world at large. It is because he craves the respect of others and recognition for his transformation that he feels that he should have the power, without consequence to spread his message of conversion to all as is taught by his particular belief. The trap here belongs to Us as those who both are at war with Theocracy, in all its forms, and with hypocrisy in all its forms. It would be facile for The Collective to opine that in this case We, Ourselves, find firm footing in Metaphysics and Logic to dictate that those who feel this way should have no rights to do so. Such a thing would be an annoyance to society and make Human beings who did not believe as Noonan does uncomfortable in their quotidian activities. However, to do such a thing would make Us a far greater hypocrite than mark Edward Noonan.

The reality of the matter is that in America Mark Noonan needs no muscular protection for his religion because he has that legal protection already. His upset comes not from that he knows this but that those protections for his religious liberty are limited by the only power in America greater than organized religion– capitalism. This is why this man portrays himself as a Distributist and this bring Us deeper into Mark Noonan’s fallacious hypocrisy.

Distributism, an arcane by product of Noonan’s religious belief, holds the following as central, “Distributism sees the family of two parents and their child or children as the central and primary social unit of human ordering and the principal unit of a functioning distributist society and civilization. This unit is also the basis of a multi-generational extended family, which is embedded in socially as well as genetically inter-related communities, nations, etc., and ultimately in the whole human family past, present and future. The economic system of a society should therefore be focused primarily on the flourishing of the family unit, but not in isolation: at the appropriate level of family context, as is intended in the principle of subsidiarity. Distributism reflects this doctrine most evidently by promoting the family, rather than the individual, as the basic type of owner; that is, distributism seeks to ensure that most families, rather than most individuals, will be owners of productive property. The family is, then, vitally important to the very core of distributist thought.” Mark Noonan believes this and goes the extra mile with this comment on the same article, “My view is that gay marriage would best remain banned – but I’ve also come to the conclusion that marriages, themselves, should not be sanctioned by the State in any way, shape or form. My desire is to as swiftly as possible separate marriage and State (thus making the push for gay marriage moot) while at the same time enacting laws which put very long, sharp and powerful teeth in to our First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion (boiled down, the laws would come out to hold that when in doubt, a person’s claim to free exercise trumps State requirements). As for marriage, itself, that is for Christians and Jews who actually practise their faith and it is up to us – as believers – to make it work as God intended.”

It would be expected that a man who has made a transformation from Loser to Man by virtue of such powerful belief coupled with adherence to Distributism would have a large family of children who soon would be going out into the world spreading the story of their father’s ascendance from the depths in the near future. No, not at all. Noonan has married but he has no children. His life is the antithesis of what he believes and is in chaotic opposition to the very rules by which he says be was transformed. Mark Noonan wants special laws to give his beliefs primacy over all others but he does not believe that two women or two men who are committed to each other should have their marriages recognized by the States in which they reside or by the federal government because these unions do not produce children. Yet his own marriage recognized in every state of the Union has produced none. While there are no laws in his State against his wife performing fellatio on him, or he performing cunnilingus on his wife or both of them engaging in anal sexual intercourse Noonan calls these acts between consenting adults of the same sex “abhorrent.” Why then has this man not exploded from his own hypocrisy?

  1. Well that’s the understated question of the day! Maybe BP lent him a well cap.

  2. Robin Naismith Green Says:

Well done Ser Mitch! I don’t get how people who swear their allegiance to the Constitution can be so willing to bar the rights of those who are different from them. They are acting as the dreaded Muslims they despise would in this regard. I have noticed quite a bit of commentary on blogs and on TV that marriage equality costs the Right nothing. The more I think about this, and trust me thinking about culture war issues like this gives me a serious headache, I feel this view is incorrect. marriage equality costs the Right, especially the religious right something they cherish even more than their guns and their religion– unearned privilege.

    • Robin:
I’ve noticed a few of your comments “over there”. Congrats. I guess I hold the honor of not only being the most banned commentator over the past 9 yrs, but I have infuriated Noonan and Margolis so much that I am in permanent B4V purgatory. Sob!
Over the past few months I have become friends with Cluster. In the real world, we have more in common than not and interestingly his personal opinion of that crowd is the same as mine. He is interested in starting his own blog. One that would be much more receptive to having debates or conversations with liberals, progressives, etc with out the bubble doors slamming shut. That to me is the single most telling element of their mindset. Any information or opinions that do not reinforce their cloistered, highly defended and zealously protected world view is dismissed. Their faith is so fundamentally weak that any challenge is dismissed out of hand with no examination. They mock, the ridicule and they seem to believe that they actually can effect public policy. A few yrs back, Noonan was delusional enough to consider running for the Senate! Sadly, their politics is rooted in their religion. They substitute faith for facts and cringe at the specter of critical thinking. And yet they believe that they are the most objective of critical thinkers on the planet. I am amazed that they are capable of maintaining such a vast degree of cognitive dissonance for so long. It is truly an amazing feat. (Not to be confused with Little Feat.)
Anyway, I paraphrased your comment about Noonan and emailed it to Cluster. In reality, he is a reasonable and fun guy and we both enjoy being friends.
But please do not mention this if you post again today at B4V. I wouldn’t want to cause him any trouble. We both know what their Collective thinks of this Collective. As Bertrand Russell once pondered, can the set of all sets be a member of itself? If the answer is yes, then it is no. Or is it the other way around??

      • dcobranchi Says:

I joined the fray and have had multiple comments deleted already. They are very quick to label someone a troll and pull the plug.

I think I just about have Noonan to the point where he admits that in his mind the only people who are married are those married in the RCC.

      • @ Ser Daryl: The clarity of your arguments were lie a cool mist upon the Collective. Noonan does believe that only those that are married in the Catholic Church of Rome are the only ones who are truly marrying in the eyes of the Creator. However, if the states several and the federal government hold no power over his matrimony, why does he care at all that LGBTQ couples are receiving the rights they have been denied?

  3. these RWNJ’s remain willfully ignorant of the establishment clause.

on the VRA, i view SCOTUS’s decision as admonition to congress for failing to heed SCOTUS’s previous warning to update the stats upon which sections 4 & 5 were based which would (presumably) demonstrate their continued need.

remember, the 14th amendment equal protection clause applies to rednecks too & their state-level elected reps have a perfect right to control voting absent DEMONSTRATED illegal descrimination.

SCOTUS merely (& correctly) pointed-out that 40 yr old stats may well not apply.

  4. Noonan is the embodiment of every toxic, self absorbed authoritarian aspect of the extreme right. Sadly there is no center right anymore so they all are extreme. If nature strives for 100% efficiency, then by courting the religious right for so long, the Republicans invited inside the pathogen which has destroyed them. B4V is a walled conclave of very unhappy people. I honestly do not know how they can function in the everyday world where there is no delete button.

    • But yet Noon an believes the Left will die out due to abortion and same sex marriage. He is as delusional as he is hypocritical.

      • He’s beyond delusional. I think he’s sick but has the ability to promote himself via the blog. Interestingly, it’s not his. It’s Margolis. Margolis is the head cheese moderator. Noonan is a patsy. And to stupid and in love with himself to realize it. I watched a History Channel Doc. on Caligula yesterday. Reminded me of Noonan without the power but with all of the psychopathy. Even Malcom McDowell would be challenged to portray Noonan. Noonan is a sick fuck who hates the world.

    • This is getting exciting Watson! There is an entire chapter that I am willing to share, but am uncomfortable doing so here out of respect for my friend Cluster. As Billy Joel said in The Stranger

Well we all have a face
      That we hide away forever
And we take them out and
      Show ourselves
      When everyone has gone
Some are satin some are steel
Some are silk and some are leather
They’re the faces of the stranger
But we love to try them on

If you want to discuss this with me in private, get my email from Sarah or Major.

      • Hey Mitch, I agree that you shouldn’t share your private correspondence with Cluster in public. He can be a funny guy, but funny sarcasm is difficult to convey in writing so often he comes off as nasty. But then, I’m sure I do too!

    • @ Watson: We, Ourselves, thank you for this great service. We will be posting about this later today. Keep up the good work.
