There are times that conservatives realize that the sky is blue and that broccoli does not taste like chocolate. But then they return to their drug of choice, the flawed belief that they are the “silent majority” and that G-d is on their side:

Much talk today about an impending deal on the CR and the Debt Limit, with plenty of TEA Party people grousing about a “surrender”. Knock that stuff off – let’s see what the deal is. Remember, given that we have a Democrat President and Senate, we never were going to get much – and as far as de-funding ObamaCare, that was never really a possibility (delaying the individual mandate for a year was – and remains – a possibility, and Obama might sign on for that given the clusterfark roll-out…he needs a year to fix it and, also, it gets it off the agenda until after the 2014 mid-terms). But we needed to fight, as I said; we could not just roll over. So, we fought – now we’ll see what the GOP leadership can give us (and trust me on this, they will try to give us something to be happy about…they know that a raft of primary challengers awaits them if they don’t bring us home something). The most crucial thing is to get something which doesn’t allow Obama to “crisis” his way through 2014 – aspects of the deal must box the Democrats in to actually coming up with a budget for the remainder of FY 2014 and for FY 2015, which starts just over a month before the 2014 mid-terms…and a deal to actually have a budget would then keep Obama from distracting us from his increasing failure and give us a handy campaign issue if Democrats break faith (which is almost a certainty). Keep calm, stand firm – we are winning this.

If the US government was not shut down right now the debacle that is the ObamaCare rollout would be the leading news story in America. Kathleen Sebelius would already have been sacrificed for this failure. Instead I’m watching Bob Schieffer asking John McCain and Kelly Ayotte how much damage they think Senator Ted Cruz has done to the GOP brand. Overreach? Yeah that’s the word. Ted Cruz will now never be president and you can take that to the bank. Now Rep. Tim Huelskamp is still drumbeating that Obamacare needs to be defunded. That is as crazy as Noonan’s last line of his post update. The right wing crazies are winning? Winning what exactly?

Qu’ul cuda praedex nihil!

Poster Child for denial. Maybe he thinks the headlines are made up. Yeah right. Winning what? The grand prize at the losers fair? Which is, of course utter failure and the total destruction of the Teaturds. Teahadist’s, whatever.

Mitch the right is in such a state of rictus that they can’t see the reality of the currently political landscape in America. They do know as Noonan and Amazona have admitted in the past that they need to bring in new blood and that their message has to change. But the ideological purists of the far right, the Teahadists, will not allow the GOP to do this. I hate to say it but I feel that the goal of the Teahadists is to inflict so much pain and suffering on working middle class Americans that they will support any political leader that offers them relief. This is the worst of possible situations as history has borne out many times in the past.

There is so much out there from the right that is misguided and disinforming that I could be at this all day!

Yeah, me to. Over the past few days I’ve posted links to what I think are the most informative articles about this tectonic shift away from the Teahadists. And every single one of them says the same thing. It’s over for the extreme right and the 70% disapproval rating the Republican’s are now enjoying is their own fault. They invited these fanatics into the party. When the Koch Bros are distancing themselves from the monster of their own creation, that says something. If you haven’t already, you should read those articles. And where is Cluster? He’s been absent from his own blog! I’m getting worried.

Mitch I think Cluster is starting to realize that unless he stops rattling of Blaze and Breitbart inspired talking points he risks being labelled as a Teahadist himself. He’s a smart guy and I’m sure he’ll come to the center here eventually.

  3. Me to. He’s not a fanatical extremist. He just plays one on the internet.
