Initially I wasn’t going to add any text to Rep Curt Clawson’s comments in his first day on a House Committee, but the importance of his initial comments about how much he’s invested in India are important. So this guy is wealthy enough to invest tens of millions in India but he isn’t smart, or possibly sober, enough to realize that the two individuals he’s speaking to are not, in fact, representatives of the Indian government but representatives of his own government. Watch the video here.

This from the TEA Party Express website should send shivers through the establishment GOP:

Tea Party Express is proudly endorsing businessman Curt Clawson for the upcoming special election for the 19th congressional district in Florida. We are endorsing Curt for his many skills which we believe are exactly what the country needs to get back on track. The fact he is not a career politician is one of the reasons we believe he can bring clarity and solutions to troubled times. We appreciate the fact Mr. Clawson can utilize those proven skills, applying them to the “business” of Government.

In Hindsight

If this is the best the TEA Party can do and these guys still get elected over the establishment candidate because they parrot the far right code better the GOP is doomed. Nisha Desai Biswal and Arun M Kumar are both United States government officials. Biswal was appointed by President Obama to the US State Department post of Assistant Secretary, Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs in 2013. Kumar works for the US Commerce Department in the International Trade Administration as Director General of the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service and Assistant Secretary for Global Markets. Both of these exemplary civil servants are American citizens. Maybe if the two girls above were before the committee Clawson would have thanked the Swedish government for being such a steadfast ally on trade? Maybe not.

  1. Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

What the fuck are you talking about man? Did you even read the post and watch the video?

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Well that is the case from an election standpoint as I see it. This is a strong GOP district FL 19 and it isn’t going to change until the districts are redrawn prior to the 2020 census. If TEA Party candidates keep winning the establishment GOP becomes less and less likely to be able to win the White House. The GOP cannot take back the Senate because the bulk of voters in the United States now are either Moderates or Liberals. Conservative leaning Moderates are on the decline and Liberal leaning Moderates are growing in number. So what’s your problem with my accurate assessment of the fate of the GOP?

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Not a faux outrage this goes directly to competence. This man thought that the two people sitting before him represented a foreign government rather than his own. Had a Democrat done this it would be the top story on Drudge, Breitbart, The Blaze and RedState. This is either a dumb rich guy who got into office by the sheer force of his money and connections or he was somehow impaired during that committee meeting. That’s not out of the question since the Republican he replaced was a cocaine addict.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Clawson is either an idiot or he was on something.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Okay, yeah his first day and he was nervous right. Didn’t have his sea legs yet? Not a chance. He’s been in Congress for a full month, ran a campaign and is allegedly an accomplished public speaker as well as a multimillionaire business owner. And then there’s this from the subcommittee:

  2. Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

The House Foreign Affairs Committee has a thing called a daily schedule Neocon1. Say you are a congressman who sits on this committee and and there are persons coming to speak before the committee. Well your staff will brief you on the who and what of the visit and the topics to be covered. That happens a day before. Hours before the committee sits you get a package filled with biographical data about who is there and what is going to be covered. So Clawson had two opportunities to KNOW who was coming before the Foreign Affairs Committee that day and he either didn’t care, was high [which seems to be a possibility] or he forgot, any of which would mean he isn’t fit to be a member of the House. Both Biswal and Kumar are American citizens and have been exemplary civil servants throughout their careers. Ms Biswal was not wearing a bindi and spoke in English with clarity during the confusing and awkward dialogue with the TEA Party backed congressman.

  3. The dot on the head should be a lazer scope on yours. Do you have any self-control at all? Like Fred said, what the fuck are you talking about? Prove your claims asshole, once and for all. Claims that have nothing to do with the subject at hand which is a moron Teabagger with no self-awareness insulting American citizens who are government officials. You should fit right in with this idiot. You are both bigots extraordinaire.
Speaking of foreign, where do your people come from? It’s a sure bet it’s Europe. It’s beyond me why you are allowed to post here. You fit better in a KKK or white supremacist blog with the rest of the skinheaded faggots. (No offense to my gay friends. I’m sure they understand what I mean.)

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Thanks Mitch this is the issue I have with the Right. They can’t defend their views because most of their views are the antithesis of what most Americans want. Conservatives think they are victims because they can’t use religion or so called values to shame people into living their way anymore and it angers them to no end. In the end this is about people who because of their race have never had their privilege challenged and now that time is coming. I’ve said it here before, this TEA Party thing will go away as soon as Obama gets on the helicopter and flies off into his post Presidential life and hands the office off to whomever is elected the 45th President. If that’s the case then we all will know what all this TEA Party bullshit was REALLY about.

      • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Just like you the man has a right to his opinion. Unlike any conservative site on the Internet this site doesn’t censor comments. I have no problem with a no holds barred discussion about anything from A to Z but conservatives, even the most vitriolically racist ones cannot have their crap thrown back at them especially when their “facts” are proven false by the Truth.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

So you have a problem with people having gay friends? Grow up man. Thinking gay men are weak is equal to thinking women are weak. And I know how strong women are I work with hundreds of them.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

      Your cross to bear Neo.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

So that rule should apply to straight people as well then right?

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

You don’t have parades because you didn’t have to struggle for the right to love the person you married. When LGBTQ citizens are fully citizens there will be no need to have parades anymore.

  4. Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

I’ve asked you before what freedoms you have had taken from you since 2009 and you have been pretty quiet about that. Just admit you want to tell people how to live and you want to live the way you want without any responsibility. My suggestion move to Sweden.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

The US reached out and touched what in the last 100 years? Nicaragua, Haiti, Chile, Afghanistan, Vietnam Yugoslavia, Korea and Somalia. So it’s fine for the US to send troops to nations to protect corporate interests but you have an issue with me commenting about America’s actions politically and militarily? Are you really that arrogant or are you simply like Clawson that stupid????

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Oh fuck off. That’s a flaming straw man. Progressives aren’t telling anyone how to live. You want your religious and political beliefs to be the law of the land. You want people to think that you are being persecuted for being Christian because gay people are finally being allowed the same civil rights as everyone else. That’s your problem Neocon1 you aren’t really a bigot you and millions of other middle aged conservative white people, are just greedy and angry that you are losing, finally and to my personal delight, the privilege you never earned.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

The 10 commandments? Where are they in the Constitution? Bill of Rights should be enough.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Rampant drug use would be done away with by *gasp* legalizing drugs and taxing the sales. Murder is a crime in all 50 states and there would be fewer of them if there were fewer guns on the streets and in American homes. Debauchery? I’ll have to fall back on Justice Potter Stewart’s well thought out response to the nature of obscenity, “I don’t know how to define it but I know it when I see it.” Seeing two men or two women kissing in public to me isn’t anymore debauched than seeing a straight couple kissing in public. Love is Love man.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

That’s just my opinion, you don’t have to like it but you don’t have the right to shut me up anymore than I would ever take away your right to say whatever you like that doesn’t reach the level of libel.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Okay do these rules only apply to me because I’m bisexual or do they apply to everyone. And for the record, there will be a gay man or a lesbian elected President of the United States who will take the Oath of Office with their spouse with a near certainty before the end of the current century. Had someone been asked on the streets of any city in the US in 1914 if there would ever be a person of color elected president they would have said “Hell, no!”

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Death threats are getting boring just like the cry for the “Armed uprising” from retreads like Retired Spook are getting dangerous. There’s much higher odds for a right wing attack on the US government than one from the left.

  5. Sue me Bill. Want the name of my attorney? It will make it easier for you. You can thank me later. Good luck in discovery though. The internet has a very long memory. You’re nothing more than an insignificant, self-loathing blowhard who has no retort except to flail around calling people names; thinking that will shut down the conversation. I say again, provide evidence that substantiate your claims. Give yourself the right to stand with your hands on your hips, gloating about your discoveries about the President. To bad you can’t because the lunacy you have convinced yourself of has as much truth to it as the Tooth Fairy. Speaking of which, I hear you are a closet tutu wearer. Is that true? Can you share some pictures? Don’t be shy!

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

And Mitch this goes to the gotcha nature of having to disprove a negative that the 24 hour news cycle, fed by the Internet has created.

  6. Progressives are not telling anyone how to live? LOLfffffeeeennnZER.

I will just give you one teeney litttllle example of progtards telling other people how they must live.

Homosexuals want a wedding cake. Owner of business says no. Homosexual sue. Court says Owner of business has to do business with them.

The freedom of association is gone.

    Not an opinion. A fact.

If you want a laundry list of other ways you progtards are telling other people how to live. I will be more than happy to provide.

It will take the rest of my time on Gods Green Earth to do so. It will be time well spent.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Not the wedding cake thing again. How many times has this happened? I have no idea GMB but I will check and get back to you. In the mean time what harm is it to bake a wedding cake get paid and go on about your business? And sure pass that list on I’d like to do some vetting of facts today since I’m in the hot seat for the duration.

    • Blacks want to be served at a lunch counter. Owner says no. What you are describing is legally protected discrimination. I think you should come to terms with the fact that our culture has become much more tolerant. Look at the number of states that provide for gay marriage. It’s not going away. What is going away is the regressiveness of the far right. The damning thing is that progress is an irrefutable fact of life. It’s futile to try to stop it and stupid for thinking that it’s possible. Now, what kind of cake do you like?

      • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Mitch it’s another classic case of a group having its way for so long that they think the sky is falling when society changes. Conservatives in the 1960s spat at children trying to go to school. Conservatives now have their bowels in knots thinking that same sex couples can marry. As they continue to lose the rhetoric from the Right will get worse and worse.

  7. Let me clue you in. Christianity isn’t the worlds only religion. But you aren’t a Christian nor are you a Catholic. Your a Biblicist. A Christianist. You are no different than the Taliban.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Dominionist like Noonan is the term I usually use.

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Mitch if there weren’t people I love and care about still in the United States I’d like to see the Dominionist crackpots get Sarah Palin elected just to see what would happen. How long would it take for the US to be in two wars with an overheating economy and facing an OPEC oil embargo?

      • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

David Barton as a source? Let’s put that aside for the moment. I’m sure the American founding fathers meant every bit of what they said. However, America has evolved as a nation. America is more diverse now than ever and no one set of religious values or beliefs, no matter how large a majority of the people hold them, can dictate laws and policies to those who do not share their beliefs.

      • Perish the thought. She will never run for any office ever again.
Don’t get me started on her!

      • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

I know it would be a cruel and murderous joke to play on the United States!

    • Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.] Says:

Statism and Marxist communism? Wow Neocon1 you must have skipped your meds today. Just because you don’t get to use your religion as a social control anymore . . . well.

    • You have no idea of my success. Nor do you have any idea of how I measure it but I guarantee you you measure it financially. So since you equate monetary success with being a “successful” person, google my house. That is if you haven’t already. Yo’ve got the address, have at it jack-off.
I also love it how (and why) you jump to conclusions about me. They are fantastical. Atheist? And you know this how exactly? And why do you, someone who would fellate Jesus given the opportunity, keep calling Jews Kikes? I’d like to see what would happen if you called an Israeli that to his or her face. I’d say you’d be missing yours.

  8. My mother is dead.

    • Mitch all my staff support our non censorship policy and I am adamant about it, however, I would like to apologize for any insult you felt for Neocon1’s comment about your mother. The fact that we do not censor does not mean we condone this type of insult. [q c p n!]

  9. OK. I give up. You’ve outed me as the Devil. Guess I’ll take my costume and go home. To Israel. But you better make sure I haven’t cast a spell on you. And your oh so scary buds. Octogenarian Hell’s Angles I’m sure.

    • Are you senile? Does the home know you have access to a computer? I ave never said anything that indicates my emotional attitude towards Christianity other than like a religion, I have no use for it. And i feel sorry for those that do. But I’ll take your stance. So what if i hate Christianity. Look at all of the different people, groups and ethnicity’s that feel you are superior to. Which is just about all of them except ignorant white right wing redneck lunatics. And what’s with the obsession you have with alcohol? I smoke pot to. I’m sure your body is a chemically virginal vessel of cleanliness and purity, fucking obstinate hypocrite. You really serve no purpose other than as an irritant. You are developmentally arrested and suffer from emotional issues. At your advanced age you should seek help. It might help to make you a nicer person before you croak.

  10. Hey Bill! What’s your favorite color? I’ll bet it’s 8!

    • Good to know your digestive system works. A lot of folks your age are all blocked up. Listen up Sparky, you’ve got to be a lot more creative in your insults. Take some lessons or something. Follow a pro because right now you’ll get a zero for class work.

  11. Real Estate Tax 1796 http://www.questia.com/read/85780469/taxation-in-american-states-and-cities
Utility taxes have existed in the US since the infrastructure was developed in the late 19th century.
There have been tobacco taxes since 1794.
Alcohol has been taxed since 1789.
Since the federal highway system is a modern construct your argument is flawed there.
The automobile being a 20th century invention your argument is flawed.
Most Southern states had income taxes in the 1840s
The Luxury tax was passed in 1991 and repealed in 1993.

I could cite more flaws in your account if necessary.

  12. You stated that none of those taxes existed before 1914. This clearly is a flaw of conservatives. They are willing to say anything to attempt to shame Progressives or Progressive ideas. They use straw men and appeals to authority which no longer hold sway with the majority of moderates. You set parameters and when you are found parroting conservative lies you change the parameters. This is flawed argumentative logic.
