COULD PRESIDENT OBAMA WIN A THIRD TERM?

Charlie Sperling of Breitbart wrote an article last night about Steve Kroft’s 60 Minutes interview of President Obama last night and now the conservatives are snarling their contempt once again. During the interview President Obama was asked if he thought he could win a third term and without batting an eye he said what anyone the American people would want as a leader should say, “Yes.” The 44th President of the United States, who is a constitutional lawyer, also made it clear that he knew and respected the law of the land and its political tradition by saying regarding the fact that he wished he could do more, “You know, it’s interesting. I– you go into your last year and I think it’s bittersweet. On the one hand, I am very proud of what we’ve accomplished and it makes me think, I’d love to do some more. But by the time I’m finished, I think it will be time for me to go. Because there’s a reason why we considered George Washington one of our greatest presidents. He set a precedent, saying that when you occupy this seat, it is an extraordinary privilege, but the way our democracy is designed, no one person is indispensable. And ultimately you are a citizen. And once you finish with your service, you go back to being a citizen. And I– and I think that– I think having a fresh set of legs in this seat, I think having a fresh perspective, new personnel and new ideas and a new conversation with the American people about issues that may be different a year from now than they were when I started eight years ago, I think that’s all good for our democracy. I think it’s healthy.”

And the President is right in this. But his response to Kroft’s question is still drawing ire from conservatives who have failed time and time again to thwart the efforts of the most Progressive President since FDR. So we did a little research here at the Dis Brimstone Daily Pitchfork to get a sense of where the sitting President would fare in a third run for office and the answers are surprising.

It’s a given that if there is one thing that has driven money to those who profit from the gaping political divide in America in 2015 it is the presidency of Barack Hussein Obama. The first run in 2008 was strictly about race. Had any person less honorable than John McCain been the GOP nominee that would have been the main theme in the election: “Can you trust a black man in the White House who isn’t carrying a serving tray?” A third term for Obama would be a boon for conservative pundits and commenters, news organizations both analog and digital and the never ending stream of political organizations and lobbying firms that have drawn in billions from the dying and frightened conservative base since Obama announced his candidacy in 2007. Conservative and Republican insiders differ on how they would feel about a third Obama run. Establishment GOP sources were horrified about such a prospect; not because they fear a third term or what Obama could or would hypothetically do, but because they know that four more years of a Progressive in the White House would almost certainly spell the end of the GOP as it exists today.

So what would be different about a third race for the White House? Well it would have removed the inevitability of Hillary Rodham Clinton. I doubt if she would run in 2016 if faced with challenging a twice elected Barack Obama. I do think the GOP field would be the same but minus Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina. I think the race would have been more about Cruz, Rubio and Bush with Trump as a bit more of a sideshow act. Even the conservative base would realize early that Trump is not electable in a national race.

It is likely that the GOP establishment would lay down and Cruz would be the nominee with a high profile governor like Mike Pence being his running mate. In the light of the untimely passing of his son Beau Biden the Vice President would step down giving Obama a chance to create a legacy moment by choosing Senator Elizabeth Warren as his running mate setting her up to win in 2020 against a GOP and American Faith Party [Tea Party, Constitution Party, American Heritage Party you pick.–S.B.] adversaries.

Of course this would be a blowout dividing votes in the South and the Midwest rural counties giving Obama a decisive victory because the votes are in the cities. Cruz may shave off a few percentage points against Obama in respect to the Latino vote, however women between 18 and 45, the black vote and the labor vote would sweep Obama back into office in an electoral landslide. The good news in all of this with three major parties in the race the number of people who cast ballots would likely hit historical highs.

Qu’ul cuda praedex nihil!

  1. Very well done! But there’s something missing. Who would be on the third party conservative ticket?

    • sarahbloch Says:

Fred thinks Palin/Carson for a third party run in this hypothetical. It’s hard to disagree with that. A Huckabee/Fiorina ticket would likely do better especially in the rural South.

  2. neocon01 Says:

cheated in for a third time?? maybe

LOTS of new ILLEGALS to “vote” for the homo, muslim, commie Traitor..

    • Neocon01 there’s no evidence that I’ve seen that Obama “cheated” his way into the White House. Who do you think could win an election against him? Cruz? Not very likely. Carson? It would be a blowout as he would come off as being too distant from his own race. Trump? Well that’s laughable but a fulfillment of every Progressive wet dream and possibly the greatest political plant in history. You need to stop worrying about “illegals” voting and be more concerned about why, in a country you say is majority conservative, conservatives can’t seem to get behind a single candidate that brings the silent majority out in force. Face it your side just doesn’t have the numbers anymore in cities to win the White House.

    • sarahbloch Says:

Right, Obama cheated. Got that. Okay Neocon every black voter in America didn’t vote and if your electoral power base was a reality instead of a fantasy that exists only in the minds of conservatives America would be at the end of the McCain second term with Palin ascendant in 2016. Can you enlighten the class on why that isn’t the case?

      • neocon01 Says:

ran a loser rino against a FRAUD never was and massive cheating…wow “WE WON”!!

        ROTFLMAO!!
