FAY VOSHELL: WHAT JOHN KASICH IS TALKING ABOUT AND WHY HE MIGHT BE THE ONLY HOPE THE GOP HAS IN 2016

I heard Governor Kasich asking a crowd what had happened to his political party the GOP. Well Governor Kasich I know exactly what happened. The train of change stopped briefly at the station and it left your party, who chooses to live in the glorious yet delusional past, behind. A party that literally saved the Union in the middle 19th Century has now devolved into the party of dominionism, gun hoarding, theocracy, bigotry and conspiracy theories.

The GOP has been hijacked by those who are right of center and that political base has been taken hostage by five or so million very angry arch conservatives who are entering or have entered the last quarter of their lives facing a dizzying technological and social change era. Just think about for a minute. These people literally own rural America and many counties but in major cities their ideology and beliefs are seen at best as arcane and at worst as a caustic bigotry of a bygone era.

If Mr Kasich wishes to really know what’s wrong with his party, why they can gain little traction with women in cities, Millennials and people of color are the words and ideas of people like Fay Voshell. Voshell is a regular contributor to the American Thinker and has written articles with headlines like, “Transgenderism: A Return to Pagan Mythology”, “Purging the History of the South”, “Ebola: Faith Trumps Science” and “U.S. Has Established a State Religion: What Now for Christians?” Take a moment to let those sink in will you?

Voshell isn’t a lunatic she actually believes in what she writes about which is exactly why religious affiliation is declining in America and has been for the last 15 years. Spiritualism is growing among Millennials because being spiritual allows you to follow the only rule of being a Human Being that Golden Rule without having to adhere to all the nearly impossible rules of being a buffet Christianist. People like Fay Voshell feel not unlike ISIS leaders that they are entitled by their beliefs to impose those beliefs on others for the good of all and to empower themselves. Well that’s bullshit. If there’s one thing Progressives believe in it’s Freedom and Self Determination. One can’t be free and determine one’s own path when a religious leader is telling you the person that exists and is manifested by your Soul is somehow seen as being wanting by the Creator.

Think about that as you read through the bigotry, homophobia and delusion in posts by Voshell. While you read think about Governor Kasich and the uphill battle he faces against a political terrorist organization of five million white voting age Americans who think that the President is not up to the job [despite saving America from a depression and keeping the nation virtually safe from terror on its shores.–F.S.]. I can only hope that the moderate Republicans, what’s left of them, can rise up with a loud voice and shout at the sky, “ENOUGH!” It will take this sort of groundswell to save the party from cannibalizing itself over the next 13 months. What Kasich knows and what Governor John Sununu knows and what I know is that this is the last battle that the GOP will ever fight against its own–no matter what the outcome.

Pax Terra!
