THE HONORABLE PAUL RYAN BECOMES 62ND SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
In an age of political gridlock focused largely on the presidency of Barack Obama, a breath of fresh air is blowing through the stagnant corridors of the US Congress. Rep. Paul Ryan was greeted warmly in the House of Representatives a few minutes ago as John Boehner resigns the post today. I think Boehner’s departure is a signal to all Americans that the useless partisan war between Democrats and Republicans is over and the Congress can put aside nearly seven years of pettiness to get down to doing the people’s business. I’m even going to go out on a limb and suggest that in the next year Ryan will remind many Americans more of Tip O’Neill than the outgoing Speaker.
