COLLEGE FOOTBALL SELECTION COMMITTEE PREDICTIONS
There is no way I could be held down and forced to pick a Big 12 team as the number one team in college football’s FBS is there? Well you’re going to have to keep reading to find out.
Number 6: Memphis: I was impressed with their win against Ole Miss and they may just have the ability to run the table and if they perform well against Houston [also undefeated] they have a legitimate chance to be in a January bowl game.
Number 5:Ohio State: They haven’t looked convincing and much of that was due to unreasonable expectations after their championship drive last season. They have Michigan and Michigan State left and a win in both of those games would see them rise to number two in my poll.
Number 4:LSU: Dominant running game and they seem to have gotten better defensively as the season has gone on. They do have a conference championship game on the horizon and oh yeah and they do have Alabama and Ole Miss away to add to their strength of schedule.
Number 3:Notre Dame: They have played a very tough schedule and are a rainy night in Death valley from being number 1. A win out will put this storied program in the playoff much to the chagrin of many in the Big 12 once again on the outside looking in.
Number 2: Alabama: If I have to explain this one to you then you have no business watching college football. A win against LSU this weekend solidifies this choice; a loss ends their season because they would have no route to the SC title game.
Number 1: Clemson: I know an ACC team that barely got by Notre Dame at home in a gully washer. But their strength of schedule and that they will have to play either North Carolina or Pittsburgh in the ACC Championship game make them my pick–for right now.
Sorry Big 12 I need to see something spectacular from Baylor with a backup quaterback and TCU defensively before you crack this list. Pac-12? Well let’s not talk about that some of those programs are enough to drive you to drink.
