I am currently reading John Nolte’s article on 11 reasons the Left has not won the Culture War at Breitbart.com. Simply reading this is making my day because I love to laugh in the morning. Millions of conservatives have likely read this today and more than a thousand have commented. Those comments will be covered by Fred Schwartz later in the day.

Nolte begins with same sex marriage which I see as a full faith and credit legal issue not a moral and religious one. I don’t think, however, that any shop owner has a right to refuse service to a gay couple anymore than they have the right to refuse service to a person based on their race, religion, gender or disability. The author feels that the “voice of the people” has been tossed out in favor of the rulings of “activist judges.” In a bizarre twist John Nolte points to a rise in “Christian entertainment” as proof that Americans really do not want people they do not know of the same sex to get married. The singular example is the film “Heaven is for Real” which has grossed nothing yet because the film is to be released today. Nolte’s point is that Sony TriStar Pictures has decided to release the film on a Wednesday in 2,417 theaters. This film and others like it are one point Nolte shows as proof that on the topic of same sex marriage the Right is winning. I will make a claim here: Heaven is for Real will not make more money between its premiere and the end of the box office weekend than “Transcendence” will make from its opening until Sunday night on a theater by theater basis.

The next Culture War issue is the legalization of marijuana. Both Washington state and Colorado have legalized the weed most notorious to conservatives and more states are moving to decriminalize small amounts. Most recently the state of Maryland did just that becoming the first state south of the Dixon-Line to decriminalize pot. Fourteen other states and the District of Columbia have also done so. Nolte does not address any of the medical reasons for pot use or even recreational ones as a justification for a victory here in the Culture war. Instead he states that abortion rights activists are on their heels quoting an article on Breitbart.com no less about a poll conducted by the Knights of Columbus regarding abortion rights. The Gallup Polling Service numbers show that those who view themselves as pro-Life vice those that are pro-Choice are nearly equal at 48% to 45%. The numbers of those seeing abortion as federally defined from the same poll vice those who do not believe abortion should be legal at all is 52% vice 20% as of May 2013. Nolte loses this battle as well.

Nolte sticks with entertainment decrying the amount of sex on television but reveling in what he calls the return of the masculine male on the National Geographic Channel. These shows according to the author “celebrate the working class and their traditional values.” What he really means is they celebrate being white, Christian and living in the woods or where it’s very cold. The next “reason” the Right is winning the Culture War is the ascendancy of Jimmy Fallon to the Tonight Show as a counter to Stephen Colbert stepping into David Letterman’s slot after his retirement next year. There is no rhyme or reason to this at all.

The next nugget reveals something about conservatives. They like strong male characters. Nolte point to Don Draper [Mad Men] Walter White [Breaking Bad] and Tony Soprano [The Sopranos] as examples of these. They are called “flawed” and “anti-heroes” and I imagine that takes the guilt away for all the nudity, sex, drugs and violence which conservative say they are against on TV.

More entertainment, really? Miley Cyrus is popular but unions are dying says Nolte. I fear conservatives may never come out of this irrational abyss. As if the weakness of unions in America is a good thing for those working class people they say they love?

Conservative media is on the upswing says Nolte. Well get back to me in 20 years when most Fox News viewers are either dead or senile or have slaughtered their family. There is a trend in there demographically if you just take the time to look.

Women are getting birth control but conservatives have their guns! This is awful. War on women much? The fear of the Other is oozing here.

Nolte sees more money in politics as a solution to what ails the Right politically. No John, the key would be to make your tent bigger. Oh, that’s right you can’t do that because you’d have to let in all those brown people, women and gay people on a level playing field.

Yes, Occupy is dead but given time the TEA Party will wither as well. I think the date on that tombstone will be somewhere around 1 February 2017.

What John Nolte needs is a time machine so he can return to that conservative era of his father the 1950s. Back then by conservative standards women were in their place (not barefoot and pregnant but seen and not heard), minorities were second class citizens and it was a crime to be gay. It must be awful for John Nolte to have to watch as all that unearned privilege is redistributed in the form of earned civil rights.

Yes indeed more conservative fertilizer from Blogs4Victory a place where dissent isn’t tolerated but religion based conspiracy theories are!

This is the response from Jeremiah who for quite a long time has been thumping his Bible and praying hard that A BRUTAL THEOCRACY WOULD RISE UP FROM THE ASHES OF SOME MAJESTIC CIVIL WAR FILLED WITH MIRACLES HAPPENS. Of course all the screaming and shouting aside this isn’t going to happen because America is fully a corporate oligarchy today and it will be a progressive corporate representative democracy in 20 years or so despite Jeremiah’s prediction of an Imam being elected President in a generation. And anyway what would be wrong with that? I thought the Constitution said whomever got the most electoral votes wins the election and that there was no religious test to hold office. Maybe Jeremiah has a different allegiance more similar to radical theocracy than he’s willing to admit. It doesn’t matter what religion you are a fanatic of religious fanatics are dangerous to any form of representative government with a free population.

prozac

I agree, Spook.
I call bull butter on Ms. Bloch’s predictions.
Saying there will be “no chance” of another Conservative presidency after 2014. Nah.

Polls are now agreeing that a majority of Americans do not trust the government, and for good reason considering the latest developments concerning the IRS, the NSA, and Benghazi.

As far as her statements regarding religion, she is just repeating the liberal mantra cooked up by the likes of Bill Maher, and her other handlers.

I do believe that at the rate we are going that America will be a majority Islamic nation in 20 years considering how fast it is infiltrating our colleges and universities. Some predict that in 20 years there will be enough Muslims in America to elect an Imam for President. But even that is questionable if America has a major turning point in a more positive direction.

All of this prediction poopy by the likes of the far-left libs who visit here get kind of old. They like to make those predictions here to make themselves feel good about their side, and their hopes for an America to the liking of Germany when it was controlled by the Nazis and Hitler in the 1930s, yet thinking they will not be the target of such a type of government. While true that Christians, Jews, and other ethnicity groups would be targeted by such a regime in Washington, those advocating for such a takeover do not realize the repercussions for such a regime change. Most of those advocating for such a type of government in America reside in other countries, and are immune from such a catastrophic regime…though they are lucky, because they have escaped the sword of the Muslims in their own country.

While it wouldn’t surprise me to see the American flag replaced by such as say, a Chinese flag, or Muslim flag…I still have faith that America won’t allow it to happen. If it were to transpire that America comes under such tyranny, I can only say that it is because Americans failed to follow God’s Word. And if such a time were to come, we can only hope that we are following Jesus Christ, because without Him we won’t stand. I mean, how can we expect to stand without Him?

Here’s my comment that got Jeremiah’s undies in a bunch:

Cluster you are half right. America will not become a true oligarchy but by 2028 it will be a a nation controlled by one political party. That party will be the Democratic Party. The problem for the GOP is that they never took any opportunities to reach out to those they would need to be elected that many years down the road. Government works for the voters I have been told many times and the Democrats are the party of handouts and hope for those who have had little voice in America for the bulk of its existence.

The 2014 midterms will be your last hurrah if you are a conservative. Hopefully enough far right conservatives will win in gerrymandered districts that were safe anyway to give the Right an even deeper and more false sense of electoral security. That will lead to more gaffes on women’s rights, gay rights and immigration that will further alienate those fast growing groups plus the American voter between 18 and 25 from your beliefs.

You likely will have the hinterlands well into the middle of the century but as we all know nobody really lives in the hinterlands. The goal should be to win back New York and California but you all know that is impossible. Pennsylvania is now blue as is Michigan. Florida is growing bluer by the day even north of Orlando. Texas, by 2020 will be a blue state as Latino kids who are now eleven years old will be of voting age then. What could your side possibly offer them if their parents are undocumented that would make them vote for your side? Nothing. At best the GOP by then will be a regional party having lost both the House and many governorships nationally. In seven years this will be all over and even you Cluster will have tired of talking about a political battle that cannot be won without a major catastrophe taking place. It’s this simple when Hillary Rodham Clinton announces her candidacy the GOP gets taken off life support and those who support that party can start to plan both the party and how to divide up the estate.

THE FALL OF DINESH D’SOUZA

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, CONSERVATIVE FEAR, CONSERVATIVE HYPOCRISY, CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE, CONSERVATIVE NEWS, CONSERVATIVE SEX SCANDAL, COUNTER-THEOCRACY, DENISE ODIE JOSEPH II, DINESH D'SOUZA, FEARSPEAK, GLBTQ RIGHTS, GOP MELTDOWN, HOMOPHOBIA, HOW HELL WORKS, IN HINDSIGHT, JOURNALISM, JUSTICE, NEWSBUSTERS, OFFICE OF THE TORTURER GENERAL, POLITICS, PRESIDENT OBAMA, SEX, TEA PARTY, THE AMERICAN TALIBAN, THE CANCER OF HATE, THE IGNORANT TENTH, THE MATING HABITS OF CONSERVATIVES, THEOCRACY, WE DON'T HAVE TO MAKE THIS SHIT UP, WORLD NET DAILY, ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE with tags , , , , on 19/10/2012 by Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.]

I’ve been watching carefully the descent of Dinesh D’Souza from the lofty pantheon of conservative punditry and Fundamentalist Christianism based political power based on his power to agitate the conservative base especially in regard to President Barack Obama. In a recent article written by Warren Cole Smith in The World Magazine, a news sheet with a considerably right wing and Christian bent, D’Souza is said to have been seen in the company of one Denise Odie Joseph II at the ironically named Truth for a New Generation Conference at the First Baptist Church North in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Smith reports that named sources informed him that D’Souza told them that Ms Joseph, who is known now to also be married, was his fiancee. Another source told the World magazine reporter that it appeared that D’Souza and Joseph checked in to the same hotel room. This is a serious crisis for a noted evangelical speaker at a conference for evangelicals dealing with issues such as, “The impact of the gay agenda on America,” “Homeschooling: It’s not about schooling,” and “Is the Bible intolerant?”

Dinesh D’souza upon learning of the article being posted at World magazine’s website became at first, I imagine, became quite fearful for his position in the inner sanctum of conservative politics and Christianist opinion. Of course, as the presenter for Obama 2016 D’Souza was a favorite of religious conservatives who hate President Obama. D’Souza was also the President of King’s College in New York a position that only served to embellish his conservative bona fides. Today, D’Souza is out at King’s College and scrambling to explain what exactly happened in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Why is Obama on the social issues — and I’m thinking here of abortion, I’m thinking here of gay marriage — why is Obama so aggressive in attacking the traditional values agenda? I think the reason for it is because when Obama thinks about colonialism, about the British and the French who went abroad to conquer other countries, or earlier the Spanish and the Portuguese, I come from a part of India that was a Portuguese colony at one time, I think for Obama colonialism is identified not just with the soldiers but also with the missionaries. Remember it’s the missionaries that went alongside the conquerors, the conquistadors, came to the Americas and worked on converting the Indians and later missionaries went to China, India and Japan. So I think this is the problem, Obama doesn’t like traditional Christianity because he identifies it with colonialism. Obama’s own Christianity is more of a Third World liberation theology, a very different kind of Jeremiah Wright type philosophy, summarized in the idea that America is the rogue nation in the world.–Dinesh D’Souza in a conference call with Rick Scarborough’s 40 Days to Save America.

The assumed fear, now fully realized as the sunlight of public knowledge exposed D’Souza’s hypocrisy, soon gave way to anger. This man decided that to come out swinging against his enemies, this time all on the Right, was the only course of action to save him from being thrown onto the ash heap of conservative punditry. He told the story that he and Joseph stayed in separate rooms initially, but then when it became clear that the hotel was fully booked he changed his story and said they shared a room but no sex took place. This is neither here nor there to me because the sex isn’t what’s important here in the final analysis.

D’Souza was a noted apologist; he was on the front lines for Christianists in their perceived war against atheism, all religions other than Christianity as they see it, and the notion of a homosexual agenda. This left the man with only one remaining course of action and that was confession. As a man who referred to himself as a Roman Catholic after his years as an undergraduate at Dartmouth College, D’Souza was especially keen on the rules regarding adultery and marriage. Divorcing his wife of twenty years would have been a scandal in itself for a Catholic apoligist, but D’Souza burned that bridge when he crossed the road into fundamentalist, yet nondenominational, Christianity in the late 1990s. To this writer it appears this coincides with the time that D’Souza began to have problems within his marriage–or read more clearly that he decided he wanted to have relationships with women that were not his wife.

Now I’m not the sort of guy that would restrict Mr D’Souza’s clear constitutional right to pursue happiness as long as that pursuit breaks no laws. Oh, wait, that’s not actually in the Constitution it’s in the Declaration of Independence. Mea culpa. D’Souza’s own words point to an arrogance that relies on the people who actually believe in conservative values than those values themselves. It seems that once a person becomes famous in the conservative realm all the same foibles of reality tend to strike them just as much as they do those who espouse liberal political ideals. I want to make a point about late in life conversions as well before I finish this up. What appears to many to be a revelation from some divine power is coming to be understood as nothing more that swapping one set of restrictive rules for another. Newt Gingrich, twice divorced, converted to Roman Catholicism to give his third marriage an air of greater respectability as well as open a new door to national politics within the GOP. Gingrich may or may not be the smartest guy who calls himself a Conservative but he’s no different from Eliot Spitzer, or any other politician that wanted to have sex with someone other than their spouse. The only difference is that most liberal pols aren’t constantly hammering their opposition with calls that they are immoral because of what they do in bed.

In Hindsight

A number of things could, and in my opinion should, have brought down Dinesh D’Souza. His support of torture of detainees, his anti-gay bigotry or his clear hatred for the President of the United States just to name a few. What really brings him down isn’t simply that he wanted a new partner, or even that he pushed back against the Conservative press and blogosphere to try to maintain his lofty status. What brings Dinesh D’Souza down are his own words:

“If you read John Milton’s Paradise Lost, you discover that the book is populated with heroes and villains. The heroes, of course, are God, Jesus, and the good angels, man is sort of in the middle, and then you have the bad guys: Satan and his legion of deputy devils. Critics have noted that the action in the book always intensifies when the devils come into the picture, and Satan himself is an irresistibly attractive character. God is changeless; he always takes the same position and says the same things. But Satan is incredibly creative. Every time he is thwarted, he comes up with a new scheme or a new project. He is, from a literary perspective, a very rich and adaptive character.

Years ago, the suspicion began to arise that Satan was actually Milton’s hero. As one critic put it, “Milton is of the devil’s party without even knowing it.” Look at Satan’s reason for rebelling against God. It’s not that he doesn’t recognize that God is greater than he is. He does. It’s just that he doesn’t want to play by anybody else’s rules. This idea that it is better to reign in hell than to serve in heaven is Satan’s motto, and it turns out that this is also the motto of contemporary atheists such as Christopher Hitchens.”–Dinesh D’Souza in an interview by Marcia Segelstein, Salvo magazine, Salvo 7, Winter 2008

And if that doesn’t frost you enough:

“If you really look at the motivations of contemporary atheists, you’ll find that they don’t even really reject Christian theology. It’s not as if the atheist objects to the resurrection or the parting of the sea; rather, it is Christian morality to which atheists object, particularly Christian moral prohibitions in the area of sex. The atheist looks at all of Christianity’s “thou shalt nots”—homosexuality is bad; divorce is bad; adultery is bad; premarital sex is bad—and then looks at his own life and says, “If these things are really bad, then I’m a bad guy. But I’m not a bad guy; I’m a great guy. I must thus reinterpret or (preferably) abolish all of these accusatory teachings that are putting me in a bad light.”

How does one do that? One way is liberal Christianity—you simply reinterpret Christian teachings as if they don’t really mean what they say. The better way, of course, is to ask where morality comes from. Well, it comes from one of two places. It either comes from ourselves—these are the rules that we make up as we go along—or it comes from some transcendent source. To get rid of God, then, is to remove the shadow of moral judgment. This doesn’t mean that you completely eliminate morality, but it does mean that you reduce morality to a tool that human societies construct for their own advantages. It means that morality can change, and that old rules can be set aside. You can see why this would be a very attractive proposition for the guy who wants to live his life unmolested by the injunctions and prohibitions of Christian morality.”–Ibid.

THE REAL DAMAGE OF OF TODD AKIN’S BELIEFS

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, ABORTION RIGHTS, AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM, CONSERVATIVE FEAR, CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE, CONSERVATIVE NEWS, COUNTER-THEOCRACY, CRAZY MISSOURI, FRED SCHWARTZ OPINIONS, FUNDAMENTALISTS ACTING BADLY, GOP MELTDOWN, MITT ROMNEY, PAUL RYAN, POLITICS, PRESIDENT OBAMA, RELIGIOUS RIGHT, ROCK THE SLUT VOTE, RUSH LIMBAUGH, SEX, THE IGNORANT TENTH, THE MATING HABITS OF CONSERVATIVES, THE WAR ON WOMEN, THEOCRACY, TODD AKIN, WE DON'T HAVE TO MAKE THIS SHIT UP, WHITE PRIVILEGE with tags , , , , , on 22/08/2012 by Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.]

I’ve heard many times that politics is a very dangerous game. What you’ve got in America today isn’t really politics anymore it’s a bunch of kindergarten kids throwing their feces at each other and pointing. Americans need jobs and there are two sides who very likely have ideas of how to get corporations to get off their money and begin to hire people to do things but you won’t get to those solutions before election day because of issues that the Right feel are more important.

Abortion, sexuality and the struggle to get women out of the boardroom and back into the kitchen working to serve working men, these are legacy issues for the far Right and their enablers in powerful positions. Yes, I mean the Koch Brothers when I say powerful enablers and I clarify this because I don’t want anyone to think I misspoke. These people and those who share their beliefs are horrified that everyone else doesn’t see that they’ve got all the answers to a better life and a post life reward. Men like Todd Akin are appalled that their beliefs are things that have to be parsed and watered down as not to alienate those moderates and independents out there who get to vote.

Todd Akin is an educated man who got a degree in engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and another in theology Covenant Theological Seminary in 1984 at the age of 37. This shows where this man’s thinking and loyalty lies. Akin is a man about processes and the solutions that can come from processes. He is also a man very devout about religion and devout about making his religion’s social norms prominent is American culture. Todd Akin is a well trained and well groomed officer for the Right in the culture war.

It would have been better for the GOP had Akin gotten out of the Missouri Senate race, but it wouldn’t change what I think is obvious but many in the MSM has missed. Todd Akin believes, because of his religous beliefs that life begins at conception– when egg meets sperm and the resulting new form divided and divides yet again. I am sure that Mr Akin understands how human beings procreate, however, he doesn’t know anything about being a woman anymore than I do. What’s missing is that Akin doesn’t have any compassion for people that goes beyond what his religious beliefs that color his stance on the issue of abortion–which simply put is a woman’s right to choose if she carries a fetus to term; he is simply tethered to the ground by the obsession of people like him to take America back to a time when the nation was more racially, sexually and socially more comfortable to them.

And by choosing not to excise this cancer from their body the group of people who are Republican are committing suicide politically. I feel that Akin’s views could have been betyter expressed by him had he said, “I do not support abortion under any circumstances save for a direct threat to the continued life and health of the mother.” Period. End of discussion. Next question. many sitting GOP members of Congress feel this way including Paul Ryan who is the Vice presidential choice of Mitt Romney. Had he said this we wouldn’t be talking about this today because that position is well known to be held by Akin, Ryan and dozens of others in the GOP and even some Democrats.

Abortion is an issue in this election cycle because it is the chief culture war issue for the GOP base. They can’t roll back the Civil Rights Act and despite their best efforts to control minority voting with new voter identification laws in several states, they can’t do away with the Voting Rights Act. Conservatives are doubling down yet again in their GOP party platform by echoing Todd Akin’s beliefs which are Paul Ryan’s beliefs that abortion in the case of rape or incest should not be legal. All eye rolling aside this is the dying gasp issue for the far Right in 2012. The Right knows that this might be the last hurrah for them and their ageing base. In the next 20 years the numbers of pro-life young people with deep motivations to organize like Gingi Edmonds for example will be in decline while the numbers of Latino and black teens who will be voting for the first time in 2032 will outnumber conservatives by a factor of 16 to 1. So the goal today with less than 80 days to go to the election is to win and gain control of the Congress and the White House and attempt to rewrite the laws to take America back to that place that is socially comfortable for conservatives once again.

In Hindsight

I’m a betting man. Back a few months ago I saw clearly that Mitt Romney because of the economic sluggishness in the US would likely win the presidential election. All the indicators were there and to me it seemed President Obama would not be able to get to 270 electoral votes no matter how I sliced and diced the numbers. In politics all you have to do is wait a while as I did in 2006 when I found myself writing a similar column about George Allen who was running for Senate and made the infamous “macaca” comment on a warm August afternoon. That gaffe six years ago almost to the day was the first of several shoes that dropped which showed the harshness and intolerance of conservatives to an electorate that was sick and tired of the war in Iraq. Now as the 2,000th life has been lost in the war in Afghanistan, the GOP has a full blown abortion obsessed rogue on it’s hands in Missouri that will cost them not only the Senate, the White House and possibly the House, but also will cost the Grand Old Party its very future existence. You hear it here first folks, the GOP will not exist as a national party in 20 years.

THE REPUBLICAN PARTY HATES WOMEN: TODD AKIN IS NOT FIT TO SERVE THE PEOPLE OF MISSOURI IN THE UNITED STATES SENATE

I know politicians are trained not to speak what’s really in their hearts so they don’t alienate certain blocs of voters in the coming elections. The problem with America today is two fold. First members of the US Congress are constantly running for office. Second, the average voter is terribly ill informed. This blog can nothing about the former but we can do something about the latter.

Yesterday on KTVI in an interview with Charles Jaco, Rep Todd Akin [R] MO-2 made the following statement about rape:

“Well you know, people always want to try to make that as one of those things, well how do you, how do you slice this particularly tough sort of ethical question. First of all, from what I understand from doctors, that’s really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. But let’s assume that maybe that didn’t work or something. I think there should be some punishment, but the punishment ought to be on the rapist and not attacking the child.”

Here is the video from the Jaco Report:

As horrifying as Congressman Akin’s comment on “the fmeale body” having ways of “shutting down” conception due to rape are there is more to this statement from a man who loves his religion, of which he has no proof beyond his own belief, more than he cares for the rights of the female citizens of the State of Missouri. What I take from this is the pure lack of compassion for intelligent debate about an issue that has been in the forefront of American politics since Roe v Wade. The simple answer to this question from an intelligent person, one who was legitimately qualified to be a representative of the citizens of a state, would be “Yes, a woman who has been raped should be able to receive an abortion.” But this answer would not get you 97% ratings from the American Conbservative Union or a 100% rating from the Family Research Council. Once again old white men with arcane ideals are trying to “put women back in their place.”

I understand that Akin said these remarks were off the cuff and he has walked the comments back in a press release. That’s not enough, nor do I feel that this man who graduated from Covenant Theological Seminary in 1984 really made these remarks from anywhere near his cuff. These are his heartfelt beliefs based not on law but on his faith. Akin’s faith has no place in government when he uses it to force a victim of a crime to bear the burden of someone else’s violence to such an exponential degree as having to carry an unwanted pregnancy to term. Conservatives are always howling about living under the Constitution, however they choose when it suits them, much like how they buffet style the Bible, to live by separate rules that will assure them power over women, minorities, and the GLBTQ community. In this case they are sacrificing all women to their deity who in their eyes must see women as such a threat, and equally must see the decline in white births as such a threat, that they would openly go this far in trying to keep American women barefoot and pregnant even if that pregnancy was the result of force.

Conservative blogger Erick Erickson at Red Statehas tried this morning to make the statements of Todd Akin simply a “dumb statement” while pointing to lies told by the Right like the one by Rick Santorum during the GOP primaries that President Obama was in favor of infanticide. So even Erick Erickson is defending Todd Akin by attacking the President. What a house of mirrors politics has become in the US of A when a lie by a Republican running for office can be used to make the truth spoken by another Republican seem better. As if that’s not enough he even brings up Chappaquiddick to make his dog whistle even louder.

Jim Hoft at Gateway Pundit couldn’t even go near the issue of Akin’s comments depsite his 13th century Catholic views on abortion. He chose to make it clear how much Claire McCaskill is in favor of abortion. Hoft chose Whoopi Goldberg as his beard for Akin’s comments.

America you have a clear choice between Conservative Dominionism and Progressive Freedom and you have 81 days to decide. There can be in my mind no going back to the days of white power, or male hegemony and racial lines determining a child’s future or a woman’s reproductive rights. Be informed, be connected and be at the polls this November.

Qu’ul cuda praedex nihil!

THE SATURDAY RANT: GINA LOUDON AND BARBARA ESPINOSA: AN EXAMINATION OF THE CONSERVATIVE FEMALE BRAIN TRUST

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE ACT, AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM, BARBARA ESPINOSA, BIGOTRY, CONSERVATIVE FEAR, CONSERVATIVE HYPOCRISY, CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE, CONSERVATIVE NEWS, COUNTER-THEOCRACY, CRAZY ARIZONA, FASCISM, FEARSPEAK, FRED SCHWARTZ OPINIONS, FREEDOM, GINA LOUDON, GLBTQ RIGHTS, GOP MELTDOWN, IN HINDSIGHT, JOURNALISM, JUSTICE, MAINSTREAM MEDIA SHORT ATTENTION SPAN, OBAMACARE, POLITICS, PRESIDENT OBAMA, RACE AND POLITICS IN AMERICA, ROCK THE SLUT VOTE, RUSSELL PEARCE, SEX, SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO, SHERIFF PAUL BABEAU, TEA PARTY with tags , , on 30/06/2012 by Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.]

This morning I don’t really know where to begin because there’s so much material and since I have devoted so much time in preparing I have to ask you give an old NYC hack driver a break and bear with me. Today, I present to you a case of two women, I stand corrected, two conservative woman that for lack of a better word are what I have to call “the problem” for Conservatism in America. These two women are more of a threat than flash mobs, the New Black Panther party and GLBTQ marriage rights combined. Conservatives should be afraid of these women, Doctor Gina Loudon and Barbara Espinosa because they are very vocal in speaking their minds about the sitting and duly elected 44th President of the United States. Worse than that they are working within the high walls of Conservative talk radio to destroy any chance of the Right “taking back the country!’

Gina Loudon and Barbara Espinosa, however are not the disease they are a symptom of the progression of the disease. The disease is that white American Conservatives are tired of being restricted in their public and private speech out of the fear they might offend people of color, the GLBTQ community and young sexually active women. White Conservatives in the US of A are angry that changes in laws that offend their social worldview are being changed against them in rapid ways. Events like gay marriage and a President of color, that would have drawn at best laughter and at worse a trip to the funny farm had you told their grandparents in their youth now stand in stark contrast to the Conservative wish to just go back to the black and white [ in their proper place, of course] days of <a href=”http://media.tumblr.com/tumblr_lkc8zmft8W1qzzh6g.jpg”>1951 Pleasantville</a>.

It appears that color is an issue here that is connected to culture that is connected to actions. Gina Loudon this past week issued forth a rant at Townhall.com on what she calls “Obamaphones.” Loudon, whom I quote from the website, Ethics Alarms:

People often wonder, sometime piously, how it is that tyranny occurs. We like to think the populations victimized were somehow less savvy, more gullible, or asleep at the wheel. We think ourselves better somehow, and that it could never happen here. Every generation that has fallen to tyranny has believed the same comforting fable. They only learn that they, too, were susceptible to tyranny when it is too late.

When Hitler wanted to subjugate the German people, he proclaimed that every household deserved a car. Thus was born the “Volkswagen” or peoples’ car. Though cheap, they were cars, widely available, and from a benevolent leader whom they believed cared for their good. Even the narcissistic, megalomaniacal Hitler didn’t have the audacity to call them “Hitler cars.”

Enter Barack Hussein Obama in 2012. His way of spreading the wealth around is “free” healthcare. But as Obamacare lies in peril, his landmark bill unpopular with most Americans, now he brings free cell phones and free high-speed, broadband internet. No cheap DSL for Obama’s subjects, err, constituents. Why did he stop short of fiber-optics and T-1 lines? He has unemployed and underemployed masses that scream for free things, and direct their hostility for a poor economy to the rich people who have jobs and can afford things like cell phones. Under the guise of access to emergency services, the left repeat the slogan for the masses that communication is a human right and should not be reserved for the rich.

If you are already receiving any public service, you are probably entitled to a Volksphone. There are upwards of 20 million people enjoying what they are told are “free Obama phones”. The rest of us are forced to subsidize the Volksphone through hidden taxes assessed by the Obama Federal Communications Commission (FCC), through the universal service fund.

Thomas Sowell recently explained that Obama is more tyrannical than communist or socialist. A socialist wants to own the businesses, but with ownership comes responsibility. Tyranny is the government’s ability to take credit for things, while denying any real responsibility for what goes wrong. The Obama phones fit that definition well. Obama’s emissaries created the program, mandate the assessments on the telecommunications companies, who then pass the cost to us. Then candidate Obama can enjoy the fruits of the giveaway, while Chief Executive Obama can deny responsibility for levying the taxes. True to fascism that would make Mussolini blush, the telecommunications companies gained 20 million new customers with the FCC guaranteeing the bills will be paid. The program that cost $600 million two years ago has exploded to well over $1.2 billion and climbing. And we thought that forcing millions of Americans to buy private health insurance was a boondoggle for that industry. Remember when Obama said he would reign in the special interests?

So here is the fun part for campaign Obama. The website, Obamaphone.net is flagrant propaganda. The site denies Obama is taxing anyone, but gives him credit for giving the phones away. This website, owned by an anonymous person or entity, features a flattering image of candidate Obama and serves as a campaign tool by expressly giving Obama credit for “spreading the wealth around.” In truth, the mechanism being used to mandate the entitlement is actually credited to the Reagan Administration by Snopes.com. But clearly, there is a significant propaganda campaign to give Obama credit for expanding the home phone subsidy program into giving away free cell phones.

Okay, had Loudon stopped there she might have been okay and people could have waived this off as a person who just can’t deal with the legislative reality of the Universal Service Fund. The money for subsidized cell phones comes from the carriers who do this in their own interest of course. Also, Obama didin’t start this program. But Doctor Gina Loudon can’t accept this or even that the program grew out of the Communications Act of 1934 [47 U.S.C. § 151 et seq] . She’s already on the crazy train so she just decides to see where it will take her:

Truly chilling is the potential for electoral abuse of the program. This is a Presidential campaign notable for two records: 1) The record use of technology and 2) The record abuse of campaign finance violations. Rarely are elections overturned for electoral violations, so the cynical campaign strategist can plan to ask forgiveness rather than permission. The Obama campaign strategy in the last election was to cheat at every turn, going to great extents. They cheated contribution limits (namely from Soros who paid the biggest fine in FEC history), they modified online credit card transaction forms in order to hide donor data, which hid critical identifying data for huge numbers of overseas donations. These donations were ostensibly from American expats, but were ultimately connected to foreign nationals who made illegal contributions. With so much data scrubbed, the tracking was tedious to the point of impossible before election day. By the time the crime was discovered, it was too late. Obama had won, and he knows he can count on the swooning Lame Stream Media to ignore the story. The average American is unaware of his arguable theft of the election, though the evidence abounds.

To make matters worse, the Obama Universal Service Fund Administration is doubling down. In February they announced that the same people getting free phones were also entitled to high-speed broad band internet service for just $10 per month. In celebrating the program, Mark Henry, CEO of cheapinternet.com predicts that based on the phone giveaway, the nominal $10 internet service charge will soon go away. This shadowy figure also controls http://www.freegovernmentcellphones.net, the site to which visitors to http://www.freeobamaphone.net are directed when clicking the link for signing up for a free phone. So who is Mark Henry? He appears to be the guy behind the Obamaphone website. If not, why would the site be pointed to his http://www.freegovernmentcellphones.net site?

How will these free phones and internet be used at election time? One can only imagine. The technology already exists for texts to be sent to thousands, even millions of phones at one time. The Obama regime is touting ground breaking texting tactics already, feverously collecting cell phone data for use at election time. Who do you suppose the poor will vote for when they are using a free “Obamaphone” that is sending reminders to go vote for Obama? Who do you think will tell them that their phone is really being paid for by you? Outrageous? Maybe. But what can be done after he is elected?

The portion of the Congressional mandate to provide universal communication service to the poor is called Lifeline and it was established by the Reagan Administration in 1985 per the Federal Communications Commission website:

Lifeline is a government benefit program supported by the Universal Service Fund that provides a discount on phone service for qualifying low-income consumers. Lifeline helps ensure that eligible consumers have the opportunities and security that phone service brings, including being able to connect to jobs, family, and emergency services.

The Lifeline program is available to eligible low-income consumers in every state, territory, commonwealth, and on Tribal lands. Consumers with proper proof of eligibility may be qualified to enroll. To participate in the program, consumers must have an income that is at or below 135% of the federal Poverty Guidelines or participate in a qualifying state, federal or Tribal assistance program.

To participate in the program, consumers must either have an income that is at or below 135% of the federal Poverty Guidelines or participate in one of the following assistance programs:
•Medicaid;
•Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (Food Stamps or SNAP);
•Supplemental Security Income (SSI);
•Federal Public House Assistance (Section 8);
•Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP);
•Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF);
•National School Lunch Program’s Free Lunch Program;
•Bureau of Indian Affairs General Assistance;
•Tribally-Administrered Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TTANF);
•Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR);
•Head Start (if income eligibility criteria are met); or
•State assistance programs (if applicable).

Federal rules prohibit eligible low-income consumers from receiving more than one Lifeline discount per household. An eligible consumer may receive a discount on either a wireline or wireless service, but not both. A consumer whose household currently is receiving more than one Lifeline service must select a single Lifeline provider and contact the other provider to de-enroll from their program. Consumers violating this rule may also be subject to criminal and/or civil penalties.

The Lifeline program is administered by the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC). USAC is responsible for data collection and maintenance, support calculation, and disbursement for the low-income program. USAC’s website provides information regarding administrative aspects of the low-income program, as well as program requirements.

On January 31, 2012, the Commission adopted comprehensive reform and modernization of the Lifeline program. As a universal service program that fulfills Congress’s mandate to ensure the availability of communications to all Americans, Lifeline for the past 25 years has helped tens of millions of low-income Americans afford basic phone service. Access to telephone service is essential for finding a job, connecting with family, or getting help in an emergency, and the percentage of low-income households with phone service has increased from 80% in 1985, when Lifeline began, to nearly 92% last year.

I’m sure at this point the Conservative readers of this blog need more pictures because facts are such stubborn things. The whole Obamaphone.net thing also serves a purpose of doing what the Congress approved in the Telecommunications Act of 1996. I quote onece again from the FCC, “Carriers offering LifeLine and Link Up are required to publicize the availability of these programs using media of general distribution ‘in a manner reasonably designed ‘to reach those most likely to qualify for support.”[47 C.F.R. §§ 5045(b)]

So there’s the end of the Dr Gina Loudon part of this travesty and I’m sure you all can see why she’s dangerous to Conservatives; simply put it’s because she’s not stupid she’s just willing to lie to promote her agenda. Now that takes me to the other side of the coin this early afternoon. Former KFNX 1100 radio talk show host Barabra Espinosa called President Barack Hussein Obama “a monkey” on her talk show and then defended the comment on her blog which at the time was called “Hair on Fire” [no I’m not kidding] just as her show was and on her Facebook page. Ms Espinosa was asked to leave KFNX but that hasn’t changed her opinion of the President whom she called a “lily livered pussy S.O.B.” in earlier times.

During the show where she called Obama a monkey the Arizona GOP Chairman Tom Morissey the Tom referred to in the clip] was on the line and he said absolutely nothing in response to the comment. Take a listen.

Yeah, I had the same reaction.

In Hindsight

Of course, KFNX was quick to point out that Espinosa did not make her comments at their station and that she had left the station a month prior. I may have held back a little in this post because calling people names really doesn’t do anything to get people to think. That ends conversations; it doesn’t encourage conversation. Like many Conservative seasoned citizens Barbara Espinosa is a “Birther.” This kind of crap will never go away because people like Barabara Espinosa are coming to the end of their lives and they just don’t give a fuck anymore about anything except the first thing that pops into their heads which is usually that they want to get someone to stop doing something that makes their country less like it was when they were young. This is basically about regret. It’s my opinion that Barbara Espinosa didn’t go to Woodstock and didn’t have fun as a young sexually liberated woman 40 years ago. She fell into the Conservative trap and now she’s angry at the black man in the White House because she was too scared to have some fun in the 1960s.

Pax Terra!
