Dahlings, unless you’ve been on another planet you certainly have either watched the video of Miley Cyrus’ performance at the MTV Video Music Awards. There has been a virtual firehose worth of acidic comments directed toward this young woman for reasons that most people aren’t too concerned with understanding. As much as I LOATHE politics there is a political angle to this manufactured scandal. First of all, dahlings, there is no scandal here at all. Cyrus is simply spreading her wings in an age on Terra, and especially in America, where socially things are changing at a pace faster than the former Master of Morality [read middle aged religious conservative white men] can seem to handle.

There are always going to be prudes, whether they are prudish against artistic expression or simply befuddled and angered by any public display of sexuality, human society will always have some. The times have changed regarding what is acceptable as entertainment in one’s own home, drastically, over the course of the television age. Like Miley Cyrus, or not, favor twerking or not, enjoy erotic and funny performances or not, their is a great shift toward female expressions of sexuality in all forms of art in America and the world in which you live and that is never going to change.

Posted in CUBA GOODING JR, SHOCANTELLE BROWN, VALERI DUBOV'S OPINIONS with tags , , on 31/07/2012 by valeridubov

Dahlings I almost passed out when I read this! I thought what could this beautiful man have possibly done to warrant a warrant? I felt like Shocantelle Brown for a moment. OKRRR?

It appears that Mr Gooding shoved a female bartender in the Big Easy and the barwench is shoving back dahlings by filing an assault charge. TMZ has the details. First Kristen Stewart and now this? I nothing sacred in Tinseltown?

KELLY CLARKSON’S POLITICAL WHORING GIVES ME A NEW FOUND RESPECT FOR LINDSAY LOHAN

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM, CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE, KELLY CLARKSON, RON PAUL, TEA PARTY, VALERI DUBOV'S OPINIONS, WHITE PRIVILEGE with tags , on 31/12/2011 by valeridubov

Dahlings, I am attending an old world New Year’s party tonight at Vulca where Andy Warhol will be among the glitterati. If I get the chance I’ll whisper in his ear, “When you meant fifteen minutes of fame did you have certain faux music stars in mind?” By this question I am inferring Kelly Clarkson a singer created wholly out of the plastic and other synthetic materials of a reality show. With her fictional popularity waning, Clarkson has made a political endorsement of GOP candidate Ron Paul. For Clarkson who had a myriad of mostly white rural fans as her base this is the safest choice.

Kelly Clarkson’s music isn’t the stuff of the Baby Boomers, dahlings, it has been transformed from pop to rock to country, aimed at the bored, chunky girls who live in “America’s Heartland.” Clarkson has not had a number 1 single since 2009 and her last three releases have failed to sell 1 million copies in the US. So as a young white country singer she supports the man who is the antithesis of the older conservative establishment Ron Paul. While this might alienate some of her middle aged white female fans it surely endears her to those who want to smoke pot, meth or whatever they choose to get them through the day to day ennui of living so far from the urban hearts of America. Of course Clarkson need not worry about black fans who see Ron Paul as a bigot because of that whole newsletter kerfuffle for there may be fewer black Kelly Clarkson fans than black members of the GOP.

Lindsay Lohan for all her faults has always been about Lindsay Lohan. Ms Clarkson despite her talent is trying to do exactly what Warhol warned us was soul decaying. Kelly Clarkson is desperate to extend her 15 minutes of fame to half an hour and the stress is causing her brand and her Soul to rot because.

Qu’ul cuda praedex nihil and Happy New Year!

LARS VON TRIER’S MASTERPIECE “MELANCHOLIA” SHOWS THAT THE 1% ARE JUST AS FLAWED AS THE 99%; CHARLOTTE GAINSBOURG DESERVES OSCAR™ NOMINATION

Posted in OSCARS!, THE ARTS, VALERI DUBOV'S OPINIONS on 16/11/2011 by valeridubov

Without spoiling the film for you dahlings, just know this– Lars von Trier is a genius and Charlotte Gainsbourg deserves to be nominated as best supporting actress for her tour de force in the new film Melancholia. While Kirsten Dunst is getting the high praise she should for her role in the film the real stars are Gainsbourg and of course the rogue planet Melancholia. The story is more than the sum of its parts however as Lars von Trier chooses to offer nothing of the panic of the 99% all over the world as a planet five times the size of the moon hurtled toward Terra in what is called by Kiefer Sutherland’s character a “fly by.”

The writer/director prefers to give the audience a look into the life of a family of those in the 1% going on with their lives of arrogant luxury and diffident optimism as the possibility of an extinction level event moves toward Terra with reckless abandon. The movie has two parts and those two parts show the seemingly flawed wedding of Aleksander Skarsgaard and Dunst set in a bucolic setting at a golf resort presumably from the auto plates in Pennsylvania. In this retreat far from the economic crisis protected by their wealth and power Dunst descends into melancholia and comes to embrace the joy of a world shattering rock of the same name while her sister goes from capable planner to Internet rumour obsessed victim in the turn of an act.

Gainsbourg’s tragic competence, the scene where she is struggling with a nude Dunst to get her to bathe is artistic gold, soon enough is shattered just as Terra will be by the realization that her place in society, her wealth even her love for her son cannot save her from the laws of physics. Kirsten Dunst’s character on the other hand seems to fall in love so deeply with planet Melancholia that she strips down and bares not only her body to the planet glowing above in the night sky but her soul as well. In the end Melancholia cannot be stopped no matter how many hedge fund investments, stabled horses or perfectly manicured greens surround them.
