WHAT THE HELL WAS CLINT EASTWOOD THINKING?

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, CLINT EASTWOOD with tags , , , , on 30/08/2012 by Diane Valencen, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H [Journ.], ArF J., M.F.

I have to agree with Rachel Maddow that the speech, if I can it that, given by Clint Eastwood at the Republican National Convention tonight was one of the most appalling things I have ever seen in my life. That this great actor and director would come out into a convention hall packed with people who hold some of the most retrograde ideas and mock the sitting President of the United States makes me wonder about the sanity of those running the Romney campaign. That Eastwood would suggest that Obama just step away and let Romney take over was yet another dog whistle, a code phrase that I am sure got whoops and hollers in the rural outposts of bigotry in my former nation. That he would imply that the President would tell Romney to “go fuck yourself” made me physically ill. I don think Clint Eastwood deserves a pass for his age for this nor do the merchants of bigotry that handle the Romney campaign.

PAUL WILL NOT SPEAK AT GOP CONVENTION IN TAMPA BECAUSE HE “REFUSES TO FULLY ENDORSE MITT ROMNEY”

Posted in RON PAUL with tags , , , , , on 26/08/2012 by sarahbloch

In a bombshell announcement less than an hour ago GOP presidential candidate Ron Paul, who holds a small number of delegates to the GOP convention, states he has declined to speak at the GOP convention starting Tuesday in Tampa because he “refuses to fully endorse Mitt Romney.” The New York Times is reporting that the Romney campaign sought to vet his speech and needed assurance that Paul would fully endorse the presumptive GOP nominee. This was too much for the Libertarian congressman who will be speaking at a rally of his supporters at the University of South Florida today.

CONSERVATIVE PUNDIT MARK EDWARD NOONAN PREDICTS MITT ROMNEY WILL WIN 489 ELECTORAL VOTES IN 2012 ELECTION

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, BLOGS 4 VICTORY, CONSERVATIVE FEAR, CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE, COUNTER-THEOCRACY, MARK EDWARD NOONAN, MITT ROMNEY, POLITICS, PRESIDENT OBAMA, RACE AND POLITICS IN AMERICA, ROCK THE SLUT VOTE, TEA PARTY, THE IGNORANT TENTH, THE MATING HABITS OF CONSERVATIVES, THE MEDITATORS, THEOCRACY, WHITE PRIVILEGE with tags , , , on 29/07/2012 by Majordomo Pain

This quote from Mark Edward Noonan at The American Catholic on 26 June 2012 to a post made by Donald R. McClarey:[Charlie Cook’s full article can be found here. I find it interesting what Mr McClarey chose not to share with his readers.–Gavlae Reudo Maxric, Copy Ed.]

“It will be a blowout, crushing loss for Obama. It won’t be a 1984-style route, but very much akin to 1980.”

This would mean Romney would win 489 electoral votes and Obama would win 49. Such a result would leave Obama with few states; his own, Illinois with 21 electoral votes and a pair of others, the most likely of these then would be North Carolina, with 15 and Virginia with 13. Now this will be difficult, if not impossible, for the Romney campaign to pull off since Virginia and North Carolina are viewed by most election analysts as swing states. This represents not what Mr Noonan knows about politics, but what he wished would happen. What he seeks is not a simple revolution by ballot, which is possible every four years in the United States, but a destruction of all that Obama stands for that will demoralize Progressives for a generation. He invokes both the Reagan myth and the “failure” of Liberalism as embodied by Jimmy Carter’s one term. We, Ourselves, do realize that Mr Noonan never actually predicts anything with any certainty on his own blog out of fear that his ignorance of politcs will outshine his intolerance for anything but far Right Catholic values. No informed voter would take Noonan’s boast seriously but We know that many on the Right are horribly and gleefully ill informed.

BAIN AND THE BIRTHERS

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, BIGOTRY, BIRTHERISM, CONSERVATIVE FEAR, CONSERVATIVE HYPOCRISY, CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE, CONSERVATIVE NEWS, COUNTER-THEOCRACY, DIANE VALENCEN OPINIONS, DRUDGE REPORT, GOP MELTDOWN, MARK EDWARD NOONAN, MITT ROMNEY, POLITICS, PRESIDENT OBAMA, RACE AND POLITICS IN AMERICA, TEA PARTY, THE BAIN PROBLEM, VOTER SUPPRESSION with tags , , , , , on 13/07/2012 by Diane Valencen, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H [Journ.], ArF J., M.F.

As much as I would love call the 2012 election based on the stunning reports of Mitt Romney’s continuing legal executive control of Bain Capital after he said he had none after 1999, sadly I can’t. What I can do, very briefly this morning, is point out another clear cut hypocrisy event on the part of those who would rather vote against President Barack Obama than for Mitt Romney. As much as I loathe cliches, America is at a crossroads in 2012 and the decions that are made in November in voting booths all across the nation will go a long way to determine whether America is a success or a failure in the first century of this New Millennium.

I went to Blogs4Victory this morning and they had only one new post that The Drudge Report was running a headline that Conodleezza Rice was the front runner for the Romney campaign as their VP pick. This was supposed to be a large stone dropped into a small pond that would push the Bain story out of the forefront of the minds of conservatives at least and the MSM at best. This strategy did not work. While many major news sources covered the Drudge Rice story many more including CNN and MSNBC devoted their entire evening schedule last night to trying to determine whether there was something more here than the nothing that both Bain and Romney’s campaign said was there.

I find it curious that Mitt Romney who wants desperately to be the President of the United States is willing to cover up his relationship with his own company and is refusing to submit tax returns for public scrutiny that likely would point out the veracity of the Boston Globe article stating that he was still in de jure charge of Bain well into 2002 base upon Securities and Exchange Commission filings. Romney’s easy way out would be to do what Barack Obama did in March 2008 regarding his affiliation with Reverend Jeremiah Wright which was one of the greatest political speeches of all time. Were Romney able to come close to equalling that speech he would not find himself the victim of his own free market capitalist success.

What I find most hypocritical is that the many of the very same people who think that the sitting president was born in Kenya despite all the evidence presented to the contracy from the State of Hawaii and other cources feel that this Bain Problem is nothing but a little harmless smoke. These people, whom I must confess would not vote for Barack Obama even were he running unopposed, do not see that to be an informed voter you need to have some grasp on what Mitt Romney really is. His tax returns, which these birther conservatives do not need to see because Mitt said he was done with Bain in 1999, would either reveal something damning or they would not.

This journalist is of the opinion that there must be something there or they would have been released. Progressives don’t need to become Bainers to counter the Birthers. If Romney releases his tax records going back to 1995 say there will be very few on the Left that will declare them false in any way. There is still time for Mitt Romney to come clean before the GOP Convention in Tampa and that might be his biggest problem.

If there is something in his tax returns even more destructive to his character than what has already been found by Borchers and Rowland at the Boston Globe it may cost him a nomination that he has all but sewed up nearly a month ago. The GOP rallied around war hero John McCain in 2008 when many of my colleagues here thought that the convention was going to self destruct. Sarah Palin, to her credit, saved that convention with an amazing speech that galvanized values voters and the GOP establishment as well. Then of course you know what happened from that point; she became her own worst enemy and the media continued to help her braid rope until she kept the man who should have been president in 2000 form having any chance of winning at all.

The good news for the Romney campaign is that today is Friday and weekends are slow for news. The Sunday news shows will be all Bain all the time and they hope this will work out of the MSM’s slow digestive system by Monday morning. If by the middle of next week Romney finds himself in the same spot Herman Cain was in months ago where more and more facts about his character and association with Bain from 1999 to 2002 come to light by way of the MSM rather than from the horse’s mouth there might yet be a chance that Jeb Bush or someone else well regarded by the GOP establishment might walk up to the podium in Tampa and take the brass ring out of Mitt Romney’s hand with a raousing speech of their own.
