From time to time the bickering, for lack of a better word, with conservatives whether here or at their sites, can be fun. After this last exchange with Tim, Neocon1 and Jeremiah at Views From the Right Side this week I was left feeling a little bitter. I will make this short and sweet. What I get paid to do is verify the information that comes in and package it for our readers. I am a researcher and a journalist that prides himself both on his accomplishments and has learned from his failures.

In this case, I have failed. Not in the meaningless and pointless arguments with people who’s minds will never be changed at their blogs, but you, our readers. The progressive cause is not one that wants to take the rights of people away. On the contrary, Progressives want to use the government and its power and purse to make the lives of Middle Class Americans better. Just listening last night to Senator Elizabeth Warren and representative Elijah Cummings talk about what they want to do to help the bruised, battered and ever shrinking Middle Class gave me more than a little hope. I should be writing editorials about what those who I think have the best solutions to America’s problems; not screaming at the top of my lungs at people who have no grasp upon reality. The stories you should have been glued to over the past few weeks should have been about the alleged “black sites” in Chicago and ever deeper writing about the Mette rape case and the corruption in the South Dakoya Department of Social Services.

hindsight 2374
In Hindsight

I will do better for you. In the end you, the young Progressives in America, are the reason why I do this and I apologize for losing sight of the real reason I am here. So, for the record, and since they will never change their minds, turn their back on bigotry, or even ever admit that their political ideology restricts Americans from living their lives in Freedom and with Justice I have this parting commentary. “Enjoy your petty blog comments victories, your self aggrandizement and even your bloviating conservative media icons. If you think you are winning the hearts and minds of young Americans you are more than delusional you are insane. You are the same people who a short five years ago said that same sex marriage would never be legal in a majority of states. Look where we are now with 37 states and the District of Columbia. You are the same voices that shouted epithets at children as they walked to schools decades ago. You, conservatives are the past; Progressives are the future.”

BREAKING NEWS: SOURCES CLOSE TO RUSH LIMBAUGH, “RUSH WILL RETIRE, 24 FEBRUARY 2017”

Posted in BREAKING NEWS, RUSH LIMBAUGH with tags , on 17/04/2014 by Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.]

The newspaper offices here at The Dis Brimstone Daily Pitchfork are nearly ablaze with activity as three executive sources close to the production of Rush Limbaugh’s radio show carried by Premiere Radio Networks have stated that at the end of his contract which runs through 2016, “Limbaugh will retire shortly after the next presidential election, no matter who wins. His strike date to retire is 24 February 2017.” Limbaugh has been the loudest voice for conservative political ideologues for more than 25 years and his departure, which sources say will be announced at the beginning of 2016, will create a gaping hole in the conservative dominated talk radio sphere. The radio host will be 66 years old when he retires and has stated privately, according to the same sources that he wants to retire “to enjoy what he’s earned.”

Premiere Radio Networks could not be contacted for a response to this report. We will continue to try to get an official on the record verification of this story as the day progresses.

THE GOP OUROBOROS: KARL ROVE MAY BE THE ONLY MAN IN AMERICA THAT CAN SAVE THE GOP FROM BEING DESTROYED BY THE TEA PARTY

Posted in 2012 GOP PRIMARIES, 2012 US ELECTION, 2014 ELECTIONS, 2016 ELECTIONS, CONSERVATIVE NEWS, COUNTER-SHAI'TANISM, COUNTER-THEOCRACY, DIANE VALENCEN OPINIONS, KARL ROVE, POLITICS, SARAH PALIN, TEA PARTY, TECTONIC SHIFTS with tags , , , , , , , , , on 17/03/2013 by Diane Valencen, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H [Journ.], ArF J., M.F.

diane_tomlinson_2

That post tile is something I never thought I would ever write, but there it is. Karl Rove is more than desperate to save the GOP from the TEA Party conservatives that are threatening to turn the Congress into a Progressive holding for the next forty years. Rove has gone beyond the exasperation of running against President Obama in 2012 and his coalition of blacks, young white Progressives, the GLBTQ bloc, Latinos, women and the 47% not included in any of those demographics, to a beneficial honesty about what the establishment GOP needs to do to attract voters from those groups.

teaparty demographics

Rove realizes that the Aikens, the Mourdochs and the O’Donnells of the conservative political spectrum are strychine. The political grandmaster on the Right also knows that the Allen Wests and Nia Longs of the world are an insult to millions of middle class minorities who in their own daily lives and beliefs are more conservative than the President her served is or ever will be. Now I don’t get to say this very often but having a Progressive majority in both houses of the US Congress for the short term, say from 2014 until 2024 would be monumentally more pleasant for those who want real progress from their government. Having that reign run until 2054 is downright dangerous. If there’s one thing I know about American politics it’s that the pendulum is sharp and never cuts in only one direction.

o-KARL-ROVE-NAZI-IMAGE-570

Six years, ago on this date, Karl Rove was the darling of the Republican Party and Progressives cheered when he resigned from his duties at the White House later in 2007. At that point in history he might have run a close second to being the most despised right wing political voice in America behind Rush Limbaugh. Today, he is hated in a new quarter and that quarter is in his own political house. The TEA Party Patriots have even gone to that lowest point in political discourse calling Rove a Nazi.

Ship-of-Fools

So the battle lines now have been drawn in the brewing civil war between the Establishment and the TEA Party for the right to the ownership of a ship that is on fire and has several holes in its hull at the waterline with broken masts in a raging perfect storm thousands of miles from land. Literally, the Hand of Fate would have to descend on that scene to save the ship from utter destruction. Karl Rove, I believe is that hand.

sarah-palin-big-gulp-cpac

Sarah Palin at the height of her post election campaign fame was the Walmart® of politcians. Palin never wanted to be President; she wanted to turn a profit. Fortunately for her, she lives in the greatest corporatocracy and marketing driven nation in the history of Terra. In the nine months after resigning from the governorship in Alaska Palin pocketed a staggering 12 million dollars. Nine million of that came from her nine episode stint on The Learning Channel starring in Sarah Palin’s Alaska. This juggernaut of profit fueled by the misguided ideas of people who cannot think for themselves is what Karl Rove is up against.

karl-rove

Now, of course, Rove has a mighty arsenal, both politically and intellectually, at his disposal as well, but barbs about the massive failures that American Crossroads and Crossroads GPS, Rove’s PACs suffered in the 2012 elections coming from Palin is a broadside that deepens the rift between the Establishment which is trying to rebrand the GOP and the TEA Party which is trying to destroy it as a parasite from the inside out. Parasites often don’t realize that by killing the host they kill themselves as well.

Many would call Karl Rove 3.0 a refreshing hope for the GOP. That take generally comes from well heeled Establishment Republicans. Those in the TEA Party allied with Palin just want Rove to go off into the sunset of retirement to be remembered as someone who manufactured the transition for Bush II’s soft conservatism of decidership to the new age of right wing social issue pushes to “take back their country!”

Rove CA GOP CON

Rove in his speech to the California Republican Party just over two weeks ago preached diversity and a massive ground game to get to the people whose votes Republican candidates will need in the future, i.e., Latinos, blacks and white women between 18 and 35. Now the Conservative Victory Project, Rove’s latest foray aims to do this and more. The goal of the CVP is, in Rove’s own words, “to weed out the Akins and O’Donnells” in future primaries. Most would think this is a good idea for a party out of touch with so many voter groups. Not the TEA Party, oh no. They want to double down on things like legitimate rape and seem even more to the right on social issues than anyone the Establishment would dare to counter with.

In the end the GOP likely will become a regional party made up of moderates that resonate with some Latinos and white women in the northeast and the midwest. The TEA Party will hold power in some state legislatures in the South and will win a few seats in Congress as they did in 2012. Overall, however, neither will be able to field a viable candidate for the presidency in the near term. With all the buzz about Jeb Bush he doesn’t poll very well, two years out from Hillary Rodham Clinton’s announcement she’s running, against the former first lady. And then there’s the curious case of Texas which will be the final tipping point for the GOP. If they lose a major race in this state, say for governor, to the Democrats that will signal and end to the GOP as we know it today. Nineteen months from now this race will take place and if the Latino vote and the women’s vote go the way I think it will this race could finish the establishment on the right for the foreseeable future. No, Texas, no White House for the GOP in a generation.

SOUTH CAROLINA DEMOCRATIC PARTY CHAIRMAN DICK HARPOOTLIAN EXPLAINS IT ALL

Posted in NIKKI HALEY AFFAIRS, SARAH BLOCH OPINIONS with tags , , , , , on 05/09/2012 by sarahbloch

I love this guy. Dick Harpootlian let out a classic fusillade of comments about Palmetto State Governor Nikki Haley, whose past dalliances precluded her from consideration as Mitt Romney’s Veep, this morning at this morning’s delegation breakfast:

“She was down in the bunker a la Eva Braun.”

This in reference to the governor’s pandering to Southern conservative voters at the by delivering daily briefings from The NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte during the Democratic National Convention in the Queen City. While I’d never stoop so low as Rush Limbaugh and call the Governor of South Carolina a slut, I am pretty sure she’s happy that she was able to afford contraception over the past 20 years. What conservatives don’t get is that Haley’s hypocrisy makes her seem far worse a person to me than any extra-marital sexual flings she may or may not have had.

ARTICLE 1 SECTION 8 AND HOW THE TEA PARTY IS FORCING THE ESTABLISHMENT GOP TO REALLY GO BACK THE DAYS OF THE FOUNDING FATHERS OF AMERICA

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE ACT, AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM, AMERICANS AGAINST THE TEA PARTY, CONSERVATIVE FEAR, CONSERVATIVE HYPOCRISY, CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE, CONSERVATIVE NEWS, COUNTER-THEOCRACY, FASCISM, FEARSPEAK, FREEDOM, GOP MELTDOWN, GREGORY NATHAN PETERSON, HOW HELL WORKS, POLITICS, RACE AND POLITICS IN AMERICA, ROCK THE SLUT VOTE, SARAH BLOCH OPINIONS, TEA PARTY, THE IGNORANT TENTH, THE MATING HABITS OF CONSERVATIVES, THE WAR ON WOMEN, THEOCRACY with tags , , , , , on 02/08/2012 by sarahbloch

Now the title of this article might make many on the far Right think this is going to be something they can e-mail to their friends or might even be mentioned by Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck in the next few days. It is none of those things. When I say that the TEA Party wants the GOP to go back to the days of the Founding Fathers I mean they want a literal [well in their minds] interpretation of Article 1 Section 8 of the United States Constitution.

This morning I saw Senator Tom Coburn R-OK having a conversation with Jonathan Capehart a Washington Post opinion columnist of note and great journalistic talent, on MSNBC’s Morning Joe. these are two men who are rarely vague in their opinions and to Caprhart’s credit when he doesn’t know something he says so. Such was the case this morning when Coburn says that America should go back to the clear meaning of Article 1 Section 8. Capehart asked the Senator to refresh his memory [this early in the morning most people have the Civics portion of their brain at station keeping at best] and Coburn did with clarity. I was impressed; then I began thinking about what it would really mean for America if the Theocrats got their way, came fully to power and began to dismantle the Federal Government based on the literal meanings of the words written that became the blueprint for American democracy.

Briefly I want to give you a trip into the world of the post-Progressive America that is fundamentally changed by the rise of the TEA party to power. I’ll do this by taking just two example clauses of Article 1 Section 8 and citing with their own words what the Far Right would do to the powers vested in the United States Congress.

The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes, duties, imposts and excises, to pay the debts and provide for the common defense and general welfare of the United States; but all duties, imposts and excises shall be uniform throughout the United States;

Now here I find where Congress has the power to lay corporate taxes, duties on foreign goods coming into the US pay debts owed to other nations appropriate funds for defense and even to provide a safety net for those citizens not doing so well. The word welfare was written there over 200 years ago not by FDR. Those on the Far Right, who are pushing the establishment GOP more and more toward that ideological cliff, see this portion of Article 1 Section 8 in a completely different manner. Here’s how a commneter, Fred Kelly, to a post about Obama “getting” Latinos at the San Antonio Tea Party website sees this clause [emphasis mine] :

I offer the following on all entitlements:
ObamaCare and the General Welfare Clause
The phrase “general welfare” had a completely different meaning when the Constitution was drafted and ratified than it has now. The framers of the Constitution understood the phrase to mean a state of general wellbeing for the entire country. The general welfare clause does not grant congress the power to spend any money. This clause is Article 1 Section 8 Clause 1 and it authorizes Congress to collect various forms of taxes for the purpose of paying debts, for the common defense of the country, and for the over all well being of the country as a whole. The powers to spend this tax revenue are spelled out in the reaming [sic] 17 clauses of Article 1 Section 8. None of the remaining 17 clauses of Section 8 authorize congress to give this money to individuals in the form of entitlements such as ObamaCare.
Since the Social Security Act was passed in 1935 the general welfare clause has been used to justify every single entitlement. None of these entitlements are authorized by the general welfare clause. The power to confiscate wealth from individuals in the form of taxes and redistribute this wealth in the form of entitlements was left by the framers of the Constitution in the hands of the States. None of the enumerated powers of the Constitution, including the general welfare clause, grant the federal government this power. Since the power is not granted to the federal government it must remain with the States just as the Tenth Amendment declares, ObamaCare violates the Tenth Amendment by taxing one group of individuals and giving that money to another group of individuals in the form of entitlements.

So, with this single powerful stroke the TEA Party Congress would undo the entitlement structure in the United States. No more Social Security, no more disabulity benefits, ten of millions plunged into poverty in an instant. But to the TEA Partiers that’s okay because they get to keep their tax money to buy plastic bags to cover their new shoes they use to step over the bodies of the dead in the streets.

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

I’m surprised that this Congressional Power was taken to task by the TEA Party. Writing at Glenn Beck’s The Blaze just over a week ago Tiffany Gabbay points to Utah Senator Mike Lee’s, who says the TEA Party and conservatives are the “lifeblood” of America, desire to stop this power.

Utah Senator Michael “Mike” Lee has been a constitutional lawyer in Utah and Washington, D.C, in addition to serving as a clerk for then-Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr. The Tea Party-favorite, who believes Congress’ power to borrow must be curbed, will speak at FreePAC about the need to introduce a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution.

“It’s too easy for government to expand otherwise,” Lee told me in an exclusive interview.

Likening Americans to the frog that has been dropped in the “proverbial pot of boiling water,” Lee discussed the biggest challenges facing conservatives today. The change may have come on gradually, but now that America’s eyes have been opened “we need to make sure that we don’t lose it [awareness] and become complacent.”

“We have to stay focused on the [founding] principles and if we do, we will be able to achieve lasting change.”

To stay focused on founding principles means shrinking Federal spending so those who think, act and believe like Lee can be given an advantage of opportunity at least and thereby wealth. And these are only two examples from one article. Now, in modern times, you aren’t going to see those on the Right intentionally shouting racial epithets from the floor of the House or the Senate, but you will hear if you listen carefully the dog whistle of bigotry in the code of “our tax money” or in Obama’s “profligacy.” I hear the importance of elections every two years in America but this one and the one that will come in 2014 will be of import. I’ll talk a bit more about this in my next post about the lies the Right in Congress are willing to promote to appear to be the most anti-Obama.

RUSH LIMBAUGH IS NOT STUPID BUT THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE HIM AND REPEAT HIS LIES ARE STUPID

Posted in 2012 US ELECTION, AMERICAN EXCEPTIONALISM, CONSERVATIVE HYPOCRISY, CONSERVATIVE IGNORANCE, FRED SCHWARTZ OPINIONS, IN HINDSIGHT, JOURNALISM, POLITICS, PRESIDENT OBAMA, RACE AND POLITICS IN AMERICA, RUSH LIMBAUGH, TEA PARTY, THE BAIN PROBLEM, THE IGNORANT TENTH, THE MATING HABITS OF CONSERVATIVES, THEOCRACY, U.S. ECONOMY, WE DON'T HAVE TO MAKE THIS SHIT UP with tags , , , on 16/07/2012 by Fredrick Schwartz, D.S.V.J., O.Q.H. [Journ.]

First off I’m not an economist but I got a degree from Fordham University back in 1982 in political science in the hope that one day I might be a lawyer. Rush Limbaugh is neither a journalist, a historian or a lawyer. Mr Limbaugh is an entertainer no different that the guy that used to bark to the crowds imploring them to come and see the mermaid at the carny in Mount Kisco when I was a kid. usually it was a really smelly looking weird fish but sometimes it was a girl in a tank wearing a fin. You get what you pay for which is why I always snuck into the tent.

The most recent Internet meme trying to expose President Barack Hussein Obama as something other than an American politician is a snippet from a speech he delivered in Roanoke, Virginia last week, taken out of context. What appeared first in its entirety at the Washington Times “watercooler” blog written by Kerry Pickett that has been picked up by The Blaze, Rush Limbaugh and countless other conservative idiot ditches will be highlighted in its original context:

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.

The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together. There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own. I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service. That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires. ”

Here’s what Limbaugh had to say about the snippet, not the full quote:

“Successful people have not done it on their own. Successful people only exist because of the nameless, faceless, real, true hard workers. You know, before Marx there was no such thing as class-driven economics. If that guy had been aborted, we’d have a whole different world today.”–Rush Limbaugh, 16 July 2012.

Now there are two things that conservatives, who would rather be delusional about everything than deal with facts that make them recognize they are very close to the slow moving grinding stone of social change, “know” in their “hearts” because Rush said so. One, that President Obama hates their fantasy of the ubermensch, the self made man. Correction, the self made white conservative man. Two, that Marx invented class economics.

In Hindsight

Both, of course are totally fucking incorrect. The president of course is correct there is no self made man that is a myth. Even Bill Gates and Warren Buffet got help getting where they are so I’m sure your loocal dry cleaner, plumber and general contractor did as well. Two, Rush who got his degree from, wait where did Rush Limbaugh go to college? Southeast Missouri state for two semesters and a summer session. But it’s listed as his alma mater when really it was not his nourishing mother, but just some broad who’s tits he sucked.

Had Limbaugh gotten to take a medieval history course as I did and quite enjoyed at Fordham, he would have learned that feudalism was an economic, military, political and social control system designed to keep the rich and the Church powerful and everyone else in service to the two powers or dirt fucking poor. Class based economics at its finest starting in the 9th century nearly 1000 years before Karl Marx.

OBAMA’S VICKSBURG

[Journ.]

One of the many things in American history that has always fascinated me was the War Between the States, or as the TEA Party folks would call it today “The War of Northern Aggression.” Most Conservatives today are reeling about the Supreme Court decision that has upheld The Affordable Health Care Act. What hurts the most is that it is, as Chris Matthews just said a few moments ago on MSNBC that “it cast in Constituional stone and was upheld with Chief Justice Roberts at the head of the majority.” The video below was likely the reaction of the Right when they heard their golden girl on Fox News announce that the law was upheld.

The fight for passage of this law with all the townhall nonsense and the rise of the TEA Party was Antietam for President Obama. It wasn’t a clear victory but it put the Right back at bay and gave them a chance to reverse their partisan polarization that I still feel has just as much to do with the president’s skin tone as it does his social policies. The fact that a Bush II appointed Chief Justice sided with the more traditionally left leaning justices has to be devastating to Americans who get their marching orders from Rush Limbaugh. For President Obama today was Vicksburg and the election in November is Sherman’s march and the firing of Atlanta.

In Hindsight

At the end of the day this is a great victory for the American president but it is only a victory in a major battle; the war is far from over. I just turned the sound up on the Fox news monitor and took out my good bottle of Basil Hayden’s and poured three good fingers. Chris Wallace was trying to explain to the millions of idiots watching that this really isn’t Chief Justice Roberts’ fault but it is. Clearly, Wallace had the look on his face of a man who desperately needed a change of underwear. Now Senator Marco Rubio is trying to scare the piss out of the white conservative middle class by saying the IRA will “be on your back” because the law was upheld. Of course this is horeshit but to people who watch Fox News it doesn’t matter as long as it is the opposite of whatever President obama is trying to do for the benefit of the country. Senator Rubio I will be counting how many right leaning blogs and pundits repeat your “chased by the IRS” meme. Oh dear Fox just trotted out Betsy McCaughey. If that doesn’t signify victory for President Obama I don’t know what the Hell does. She wants a 20 page bill that “the people can understand.” Hell I read the bill in 9 days and I was correct it is constitutional.
