The Louisiana House member who was caught on camera kissing a married female staffer has cancelled a TEA Party speaking engagement in favor of going into couple’s counselling sources in his congressional district have informed The Dis Brimstone-Daily Pitchfork. Vance McAllister was scheduled to speak before the North Central Louisiana TEA Party Patriots today, but instead is focusing on his tattered marriage. McAllister who sources say has a history contrary to his conservative “family first” persona has become yet another embarrassment to the GOP.

Those who live in his district and those who work near the first term representative tell a story different from the family values and Christian ethics videos that were used during the McAllister campaign. There are whispers of dalliances past and a “party animal” lifestyle when McAllister is in Washington. Other reports that have come in to this newspaper refute the statements that McAllister’s wife knew about the affair with Melissa Peacock before the video surfaced. “Kelly was devastated,” one Ruston resident close to the family shared, “this would be a blow to any family but to find out on the Internet is heart breaking.” Another said, “The GOP wants him out, that’s a done deal. The real question is if he can save his marriage, or even wants to save it.”

I came across this hours ago and felt that the blogosphere and the MSM had given this guy enough press. But when confronted with such a clear case of far Right hypocrisy I had to write about it. Joshua Black is running for the GOP nomination for the Florida State House in District 68. On his website he states what has come to be known as a TEA Party platform. There’s plenty of religion, plenty of Constitution and plenty of what the far Right base wants to hear. The fact that Black is well, black and has these values and expresses them in an articulate manner could, under normal circumstances be quite a coup d’etat for the TEA Party. The very first page on his website is “About the candidate” and what follows below is his bio [emphasis mine]:

Greetings! My name is Joshua Black, and I am running for Florida State House, in District 68, which includes Northeast Saint Pete, Eastern Pinellas Park, and southern Feather Sound.

Since I am asking you to entrust me with the task of representing you faithfully in Tallahassee, you probably want to know more about me. So here it goes:

I was born and raised in Saint Louis, Mo., as the second of ten children, all home schooled by my mother’s insistence. The condition of public education in my hometown is and was abysmal, even though the school board kept getting tax increases approved. They nearly lost their accreditation twice during my school years. Meanwhile, I scored a 28 on the ACT, and a 99 on the ASVAB. Yeah. Good choice, mom.

I moved to Saint Petersburg back in 2007, in November, with ministry on my mind. I had been practicing street evangelism in Saint Louis, but always alone. So, finding a team here, I decided to go where I could grow. And grow I have. It hasn’t always been easy, and some of the difficulties were my own fault, but I have no regrets about moving to Florida and am very grateful for the friends that I have found here.

My involvement in politics began in 2012, as I tried to influence the Republican presidential primary. I didn’t do much at first, not finding time, but I wanted to do more. After Florida’s primary, I got involved in the local Republican Executive Committee. There I met local candidates for elected office and decided to volunteer to help some of them. I learned a lot, even though the Republicans lost badly and seemed at a loss to explain why. I knew why.

Republicans have a serious communication problem. Everything we say sounds like spears. We find ways to energize our core supporters, the people who will always only ever vote Republican, but we have a hard time explaining to anyone else why they should listen to our solutions.

One of the reasons is that we speak “caucus language” all the time, even in interviews with the liberal press. This is idiotic, unless we want to keep wasting money and losing elections. We need to spend time in the community, learn what concerns they have, and find out if our positions really address the needs there. Sometimes, the answer is simply directing problems to solvers who are not part of the government. That is, after all, what Republicans stand for, isn’t it?

I believe that, once we show people how to handle their own problems effectively, they will not want to relinquish that power to the government. Then, and only then, will there truly be “liberty and justice for all.”

I post this to offer the contrast to Joshua Blacks comments about President of the United States Barack Hussein Obama, responding “Agreed,” to this as posted on his Twitter feed, on 20 January 2014:

“I’m past impeachment. It’s time to arrest and hang him high.”

hindsight 2311
In Hindsight

that’s right Black was referring to the President. That Barack Obama should be hanged for Treason because of drone strikes that killed an American and his son in Yemen because they were al Qaeda terrorists. This is a low point even for TEA Party lunatics. This is what happens when a little tent party lets the lunatics in in the hope of giving the appearance of diversity. All it actually does is draw in the religious whackos, street hucksters and those who wish to drink from the trough of the politically privileged, even if just for a moment. In this case all of those apply.

Pax Terra!

Broward County, Florida is important to the establishment GOP because if it can thrive there, in a county which has seen a dizzying rise of Latinos and blacks migrate to the county in the last decade, it can deliver both its message and members to Congress from nearly anywhere else in the United States. The Broward Republican Executive Committee has been plagued over the past half decade with its share of battles with TEA Party elements led by Fort lauderdale TEA Party activist Danita Kilcullen. The actions of Kilcullen since 2009 are a single component of why Progressives have very little to fear from the TEA Party but why the establishment GOP needs to jettison these people from their ranks. The only way for the GOP to remain a viable national party is to separate from the TEA Party, take their lumps in local and state elections for a few years and come back nationally in the hopes of reversing the success of Progressive policies during a two term Hillary Clinton administration.

I know that sounds like a heavy lift, but as time goes on I am beginning to side with my colleague Fred Schwartz who feels that if the TEA Party is allowed to remain a cancer in the belly of the GOP it eventually will kill the party leaving a new massive and powerful Democratic Party to rule unchecked possibly for the remainder of the 21st Century. There are dangers in that eventuality that are well known and have been viewed in Human history many times in the past. A loyal opposition is a security requirement for any representative democracy and I still hope the GOP will come to the center in the next few decades if they can shed the reactionaries in the TEA Party.

Now back to Ms Kilcullen for moment. Many of you are aware that she was arrested and found guilty of a drunken attack on a police officer in the fall of 2010. She has also accused people of “hacking” her Facebook account. Kilcullen recently drew the ire of both Progressives and establishment GOP members in Broward when she sent an email detailing how the county GOP was being taken over by “gay thugs”.

We can expect more of this sort of infighting until the GOP cleans up its own house.

If there is one individual in the United States who bears more blame for the crisis that just passed in the government it is Sarah Palin. As much as journalists and bloggers on the left wish to make her irrelevant, Palin keeps coming back with failure after colossal failure as she gets to her feet from her knees, wipes the jissom of short term fame from her lips and looks out to an adoring all white audience in yet another state and yells, “Next!” Sarah Palin is not a political king maker by any stretch of the imagination: she is nothing more than a whore. Palin isn’t a political whore since she aborted her political career out of fear that she would be indicted in Alaska therefore she resigned and ended any chance for her to run for President again. I will say this for the last time; if you can’t finish a term as governor of Alaska then you have no business being considered as a candidate for president.

Palin has campaigned for countless TEA Party candidates claiming that she hand her husband are patriot warriors trying to save America from such evils ranging from gun control to ObamaCare. The vast majority of those she’s supported have lost, however, hindsight being 20/20, I would have taken all of those candidates in the House or the Senate had her one glaring victory been turned away. That victory is the architect of the most recent government shutdown Texas Senator Ted Cruz. I do have to admit that Palin is not throwing Cruz under the bus just yet. Just this past Sunday Cruz and Palin chatted at the Million Veterans March in Washington DC which like most TEA Party backed staged events got more coverage here from a Progressive blog than they did from the cable news networks. I am tired of the right using symbols that they believe the left will not attack. What’s it going to be next the million infants’ march? The million baby panda march? If they really wanted to have a rally they need to say what’s in their hearts and have a “White Americans who Hate the Black President March.”

What Palin and the TEA Partiers cannot understand is that is a blessing. The TEA Party right was indignant when CNN reported a man, clearly a TEA Party supporter–a “patriot” brought a Confederate flag to the march. The reason right wingers feel so comfortable in displaying their bigotry through historical symbols is because Sarah palin is too cowardly to ever tell them such symbols are not welcome. The TEA Party would shrivel up and die a swift astroturf scented death if bigots were kept away from their meetings and rallies.

The TEA Party would have been more aptly named after one of the many right wing organizations that sprung up in Dallas after the election of the first Other John Fitzgerald Kennedy. Maybe John McGehee’s National Indignation Convention would be a more suitable name for the TEA Party. Palin as the madame of that whorehouse is doing nothing that any other good capitalist would. She is a white female version of Al Sharpton–just not as intelligent or as well spoken as the Reverend. Her purpose is the same as it was for Sharpton in the 1980s; inspire outrage in the tribal community that you can profit from the most. While Reverend Sharpton never resigned from a public office Palin has in a meteoric descent into not obscurity as one would expect from a failed leader but a descent into the soft underbelly of conservative wealth fueled by the bigotry of the children of those many consider the “greatest generation.”

America is rife with 50 to 65 year old white men who no matter their geographic history cannot stand blacks, gays, Latinos, or not so surprisingly women. These are people who never learned the proper respect for themselves, because the rules were so strict and appearance meant more in their world than the actual content of their character, never learned that women served any other purpose than to breed, cook and clean. These are the people Sarah Palin, whore, can lure in to her political boudoir. While those days are gone we still cannot use the drive for lucre simply as an excuse for Palin fomenting Ted Cruz on the American people. Now Cruz will be run out in 2018 and his political career will fully be snuffed out if he runs for the GOP nomination in 2016 and is soundly cast aside before the fourth primary. It will be worse for him if he sees the writing on the wall in late summer 2015 and decides not to run.

Posted in SARAH BLOCH OPINIONS, SYRIA, SYRIAN CIVIL WAR, TEA PARTY with tags , , , , on 06/09/2013 by sarahbloch

There is a certain political and patriotic foolishness that develops when a nation becomes a superpower. America, the country in which I was born, has seen this political and patriotic foolishness on many occasions. America thought it could go into Vietnam in the 1960s to stem the tide of communism in Southeast Asia. This was a brutal case of folly borne out of the idea that communism as practiced in China and the Soviet Union would destroy the American capitalist way of life, putting racial and cultural enemies on a collision course toward civil war. Once again in 2003, the fresh fear of apostate Islamic terrorism caused the United States to blunder into a war with Saddam Hussein al-Tikriti. This war was based on the lie that Hussein’s government possessed or were seeking to possess weapons of mass destruction which he could use on his own people or his regional neighbors.

Today we know that nearly 1,500 people were killed by a chemical weapon attack in the Damascus suburb of Ghouta. It is widely held that these attacks were coordinated and carried out by the Syrian military. From time to time a difficult decision comes around where international law must be upheld I feel that the use of chemical weapons by the Syrian government is one of those cases.

The use of chemical weapons is a war crime; but despite calls from Progressives that I admire like Florida Representative Alan Grayson that America not “go to war” in Syria, international rule of law mandates that someone be brought to justice, by judicial or military means, for this crime against humanity. TEA Party groups from around the United States now are calling for President Barack Obama and the US Congress to do nothing to redress the actions of the Syrian government against its own people. While the United States must not become the world’s cop it also must not lose credibility as a force for the rule of law by sitting on its hands.

“How can the president be so sure of the situation in Syria, and so clueless about Benghazi? Too many questions, not nearly enough answers.”–Mark Kevin Lloyd, Virginia Tea Party Patriot Federation

Those people you see in this link heckling Senator John McCain of Arizona are very likely the very same people who for more than a decade have trumpeted American patriotism and support for the troops while blindly following behind the misguided reasons for the American invasion of Iraq. Now the TEA Party finds itself in a position where they, for political reasons [not reasons of realpolitik], are in opposition to anything that President Obama suggests. Embedded in this opposition now is a direct animosity to anyone in their political party who proposes siding with the rule of law and allowing a limited engagement against Syria. My question to the TEA Party is where were all of you guys in the winter of 2002?
